The way I look at it is you have a bunch of idiots (gang members and associates) with access to firearms. In the past most of these guys would leave their guns at home and only bring them out when they needed to use them. With all the shootings anyone who has one is now carrying it.

The end result is the road rage incident in Guildford and the two cars in the Tim Hortons parking lot exchanging fire with each other. Innocent people are going to end up dead real soon in the crossfire.
