So I was at the beach in White Rock with my wife tonight, and was taking some shots for my photography class... And just as the sunset was going down, this guy that was watching it pointed out to us this white dot in the sky. It wasn't giving out any light, it was just a white circular object.
Any ideas?

do u only see it in ur pics? or did u see it with ur own eyes.
if u only see it in the pic then it's probably dust inside the lens.

Maybe you should read the second sentence of the original post...?
I wonder if it could be the contrails of a jet flying away from you?

No I was busy that night. That would've been cool to see tho :)

As I said, this other person that was watching the sunset pointed out the white object to us. So then I took a shot of it.
Senna, that's an idea... but I didn't see any jets flying away, and the object stayed the same size. We were probably starring at it for good 10, 15 minutes.
I wish I had my 500mm with me at the time and my big tripod. :(

There were no other clouds in the sky at sunset that's why it's kind of weird. That's what I thought at first too. Still not sure.

it doesn't matter because it's ruining your image. Clone it out lol
Maybe bits of satellite? (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hQTZ5P_PZJnI2vqPuEkhBGJzrS1AD96CB6P00) :D
OK, only guessing, but somehow I don't think that's it, since you said it was stationary.

I'VE GOT IT!!!!
It's the pig that escaped while Pink Floyd was trying to shoot the cover for their album called "Animals"
http://sparebricks.fika.org/sbzine15/images/animals.jpg
they had to settle for a drawing, since their pig (made by the famous Zeppelin company) disappeared into the upper atmosphere before any decent shots were taken

White rock is actually pretty well known for UFO sightings.
