Fatal shooting in Surrey.
SURREY (NEWS1130) - RCMP say there's been another shooting this morning--the second of the day--at 96th Avenue and 148th Street in Surrey, just north of the Fraser Highway. Surrey RCMP confirm one person is dead. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on the scene and will be releasing more information later.
The late morning shooting follows another shooting just after midnight at East Whalley Ring Road and 104th. Police say that shooting was gang related, but the victim was not the intended target. Police say the victim was in the driver's seat, while the intended target sat in the backseat.
RCMP Sergeant Roger Morrow says it's an example of why police issue warnings not to hang out with gang members. Morrow says the victim was driving his friend's SUV. "Now we've seen yet again where someone is a friend of a drug dealer, someone involved in the gang culture here on the Lower Mainland, has become the victim. Now, this driver has been shot once in the shoulder."
The victim of the early morning shooting was treated in hospital and released. Morrow says the shooter was probably trying to kill the driver's friend in the back seat. Police say another SUV pulled up beside the Range Rover at a red light and someone opened fire. The SUV had at least four bullet holes in it, and at least six shell casings were found outside of a nearby strip club.
Police pulled over a Range Rover at Fraser Highway and 216th and found the victim. People with the victim were questioned. There have been 15 shootings across the Lower Mainland in less than a month, with five fatalities.

thing i love right now is that you don't hear this term being used, INDO-CANADIAN GANG VIOLENCE.

I said it in another thread and I am saying it again.
Someone in the RCMP should publicly resign after all these shooting. This is a fucking disgrace. If things like this happens in say Japan, half the management would have resigned, and the other half would have killed themselves in shame.
I mean, running to Ottawa to ask the PULITICIANS for tougher sentences? The gangs OBVIOUSLY care less and are laughing at the police force right now.
I think the police in Iraq has bigger power over the gangs.

You can thank the popularity of Russel Peters for that. :)
That guy singlehandedly destroyed the whole brown-tough-guy stereotype by making light of other "brown" characterstics.

It aint the police man. They are doing everything they can do its just everytime they arrest someone the courts let them free on bail. You cant blame the police, blame the goddamn revolving door of a court system we have. All these drug dealers have alot of money so what is it to them if they get caught once and have to give up one shipment of drugs and 10,000 $ bail. They are getting alot more drugs and weapons sold and traded that go undetected than those that get caught. And when they do get caught theres no punishment. If the courts werent so pussy they would make it mandatory 5 yrs for gang related crimes. NO BAIL. And you have to remember in canada the police are not the ones who decide to approve charges or not its the crown. so they can catch all the bad guys they want and they can all potentially be thrown out of the courts cause crown doesnt have the "manpower" to approve the charges

The only way this will stop is if an important innocent bystander gets caught in the crossfire. Someone like a celebrity or politician. Then all hell will break lose and the police will be out in force and the courts will actually back them up.
i thnk we should all start using the "shooting thread" instead.....

i'm going to have to disagree on this one...
on account of the fact that the reason race isn't being brought up - is because this time, it is not indo-canadian gang violence. therefore, race is no longer an issue!
This is a job for Batman.

Batman would only tie them up and leave em for the cops. The Punisher on the other hand will kill and torture them to death.

its funny how that works. its all white guys getting killed right now. also it was a white girl apparently that got killed in the caddy and the getaway car had 2 white guys in it. race will only be an issue if it is non white people getting killed or doing the shootings. then everyone jumps on the bandwagon how bad that race is and they are all the same

Do you know how the legal system works? You can't just back up the prosecutors. You NEED evidence to convict the guy, even if he has tatty's all over, a history of drug and gang related charges, and witnesses. Without EVIDENCE you can't CONVICT a person of a CRIME. Why don't people understand this? It's not the courts that need to smarten up, it's the cops.

Of course you can disagree. That statement was meant to be a lighthearted one.
