A mother and her teenage son are dead after a car accident in Surrey, B.C.

The two-vehicle crash happened at a residential intersection of 132nd and 60th Avenue in Surrey just before noon Tuesday.

Police say the mother and her 16-year-old son were hit in a Pontiac sedan by a mid-sized SUV that ran through a stop sign. The names of the victims and the driver of the SUV haven't been released. There is also no word on any criminal charges.

Police say the Pontiac was traveling south on 132nd St and appears to have come to a stop at a four-way intersection before making a left turn on to 60th Ave to head east bound when the collision took place.

The SUV apparently hit the Pontiac on the passenger side and sending both vehicles on to a grassy area on the northeast corner of the intersection.

The Surrey Detachment Collision Investigation Team is investigating. The road is expected to be closed until the early evening.

Parents should be held accountable for producing such a retard. At 18 you should know better.

RIP....

For someone who's 18...correct me if I am wrong...but I believe the driver can attend trial in adult court....not youth.

I highly doubt it will just be probation at this point...illegal driving (no license), way above speed limit at 4-way stop, and can't rule out possible factors of alcohol use, narcotics, or legal/illegal drugs (psychoactive drugs)...

I live in Surrey, been having trouble with a guy in our complex. We have been worried trying to figure out his motives. He lies and is very manipulative. He creates nothing but problems.

Turns out he was the driver.

He lied to police, was speeding, stole his dad's car, was just shy of 18, had his learner's, stole the car to show off to friends.

Got probation and a suspended license.

He now owns Fresh Fades in Surrey.

I know it's an old thread, just thought people should know.

In law 18 is considered adult so he will be trialed as such unless I'm missing something here?

What do you expect. We have murders/rapist in halfway house and every now and then we have news saying one of them never return back to the halfway house, but yet they are consider a danger to the community but were still release. He will most likely not get any jail time, a clean record and still get to get a driver liscense.

This is a necroed 10-year-old thread, guys.

Also, if the driver was tried as a youth, I’m not sure if there’s a statute of limitations on the publication ban. If there isn’t, releasing his identity could be in violation of it.

EDIT: Thought this was a new thread and asked myself 'who are these people on the first page'?

I'll bet the victim's families still hurt. Doesn't matter if it's 10 years later.

part of me believes the driver of the Infiniti should get a second chance being that it happened in his teenage years, and teenagers do dumb shit and it didn't appear to be a malicious intent

but the other part of me hopes remorse eats him up every day for the rest of his life

Let's fuck over the hundreds of other residents in halfway houses who want to change and reintegrate into society for the less than 1% who do recidivate.
