I think the service there is the worse out of all the retail clothing stores i've been to. What are your experiences there? The store is a mess and the clothes look a bit funny (authentic wise) lol..jus my opinion of it.

They hustled me lol. I was trying out this one particular pair of jeans one time. The guy fuckin' brings like 6 other pairs. I just walk out the store.

Wow. Maybe it's just the way shoppers walk into the store.

I've been to all of them, and I find them friendly and helpful. They don't bombard me. They'll always say hi, but they don't follow me around the store and kiss my ass. Sure they might look snobby and stuck up, but if you need service then ask for it. I would rather ask for help when I need it, rather than have someone following me around pushing stuff on me. I think they themselves feel the same way too.

I'm in sales also, I hate pushy salesmen, so in my field of work I try and not be pushy and annoying. If you buy from me great, if you want to go elsewhere that's fine also. It's not that we don't want the sale, it's we don't want to make you feel cluttered and annoyed.

I personally like Boy's Co. Although I might not buy a whole lot anymore, their service is decent. If you want a shop with good selection and better service try Brooklyn Clothing. Similar to Boy's Co but have alot more variation. Men's club service is the same as Boy's Co to me. I just find their selection kind of lacking. SKU clothing is also pretty good, he's an RS member. Selection is small but still good. Konig has very good selection and service top notch. Although it is small and they carry some expensive brands. They usually have only one or two sales people, but they're not snobby and pretty attentive.

The main thing I notice with these "boutique" like stores is that places that have more white people working are more friendly.

overpriced

plus authenticity is uncertain for some items..

Harvey Specter
03-19-2009, 02:40 AM
Yeah, I think I read a post on here about problems with the authenticity of some clothing at Mens Club. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a "final sale, no returns or refunds" policy in place for some clothing.

WHEYsted
03-20-2009, 08:22 PM
Here's my take on both stores. If you are wearing nicer, more expensive clothes than the employees, they respect and try to help you more because they know you will buy lots (my experience for the last 2 years.) But if you are wearing down to earth, plain stuff like Levi's jeans and a plain t-shirt they won't even say hi or make eye contact with you. Try it, and find out for yourself.

SuperSlowSS
03-20-2009, 09:26 PM
Those sales people don't get paid enough to try to sell you anything. They get a very small commission + minimal wage. They work there not to sell you stuff, but to get discounts for themselves.

from what i remember, they are suppose to give it to you. just because it's a "mens" store doesn't mean anything. i'd actually complain if i were you.

Didn't know 14 year olds were on car forums since they cant either drive or purchase a vehicle....well legally anyways

hahahaha sorry, not hating or anything. Just a funny observation :D

Regarding the tax subject, that is just ignorance by the employee because my boyfriend's mom has purchased stuff from Men's Club for him when he was 14 and was only charged for the one tax. Which is right by law no matter where you are. You should definitely complain, or not let this persist any longer.

actually its true about the one tax,
they can't sell you something that is meant for adults over 15 but give you the benefits, possibly so that adults don't get little kids to buy their stuff for them to get the one tax, but its not a big deal Boy's Co and Harry Rosen do it too.

You walk in , the old asian owner says hello come look around , a hot white girl follows you around while you look at the clothes , she then proceeds to tell you these are hot , new , LA brands while pointing at some ugly ass shirts with skulls and snakes , the owner brings out 4 pairs of jeans if you even dare to take a look at the jeans display and asks you which ones you like the most , the girl then says i think this would look good on you while taking a hugo boss shirt off the hangers , you walk out.

Im pretty sure men's club doesn't sell fake shit, its just a bad rumor.

From my experience the people at mens club usually mind their own and let me look freely when i enter the store. They have never really been to pushy to me.

Oakridge Boy's Co is nice. People there dont bug you 24/7 to make a sale and they come to you when you need help. Men's club is getting worse and worse as each year go, or as each "sale" occurs.

The Mens Club in Park Royal is great..I have never had a problem there..they are always so friendly and helpful..

I will say though, there was a blonde guy working at that one before, and he was the biggest asshole ever.. But the new owner is fantastic, helps that he is a personal shopper, and he knows what hes talking about.

I had a problem with one of my Royal Underground shirts, told him about it, he told me to to bring it back asap and he would take care of it...

I =)

man, mens club isn't good. all their stuff is outdated or isn't really in style anymore. they buy their stuff so damm cheap, and probably some are fake and jack up prices. The one worker in there is always pushy and just isn't a right vibe. Same with the Boysco in Metrotown. They are always so pushy and don't give you much room, cause there ain't alot at Metrotown. I'd say the best Boysco to go to are the one at Oakridge and Richmond Center cause they're pretty chill. The manager at oakridge is so chill. I just say I've had the best experience at Oakridge

The Oakridge Boysco, that hot woman is a bitch, she tries to push the sale too much, I was looking at a hugo boss jacket, and asked for a size small, she told me to buy it and get it trimmed to a size small. What the fuck woman.. haha
