^ wut a loser
A lot of stuff the government has a say in starts on April 1st. Funny how that works.
I think the government fiscal year ends on March 31st. Perhaps that's why......... besides, the government is a joke.

The hike isn't too bad really. If you can't afford the price jump, just buy wine by the box or something.

Why are prices increasing $0.50 for 375ml bottles, and then $2 for 750ml bottles? That makes no sense from a quantity perspective.

50 cents a mickey aint that bad and was 1 buck for a twix or w/e
sucks! 50 cents aint bad, but you know what would be better? no price change at all.
we already have it bad now its getting worse.
according to the market yet.
according to the gas pump no. sure makes u wonder what other factors are affecting the gas pump price...
On another note, the price of gas is going down :)
i never knew the price different of alcohol until i reached TW...
it worked out to be about 25 CAD for a large bottle of smirnoff vodka...
here its like what? 44-50 bucks? u cant blame it on import tax as both are imported even though different locations.

Not surprised. Throughout history whenever the economic times are bad alcohol consumption goes up. The gov't knows this and wants to capitalize on it.

Tax is so high on alcohol. It makes you cry when you visit the Duty Free shops and you see their prices. Hey, is Native Russ still on this board? They get cancer sticks and alcohol tax free.

yeah but its usually 50cents here and $1.00 there and shit adds up real fast.
they only raise the price up little by little so its not so obvious. the government is dubious like that. the average person gonna be poor cause inflation = lame sauce!

If $2 on a 26 is going to affect you, then you probably have a drinking problem.

If $2 on a 26 is going to affect you, then you probably have a drinking problem.
If $.10 cents a litre more in gas affects you, you're poor.
If $50 more on propert tax affects you, you're poor.
If a 10% increase in your hydro bill affects you, you're poor.
If your pay at work goes up 5% per year, but everything else is going up at a far faster rate...
I think people will have to get used to the fact that the good times of easy money and fat living are over! I don't think we've even begun to see the real depression that will hit the US and spill over into Canada...

Yes, you're exactly right. I wonder how much property taxes for homeowners in Vancouver has gone up?
The government is completely fucking corrupt and robs people blind. How much money is being wasted with 0 accountability, and how much MORE money will they take through bullshit nickel-and-dime methods like this?
1 million+ a day to keep the downtown eastside going, where as it would be less than 1 month's cost to fly them ALL to a tropical country, dump them on a beach with tents provide them with the basics of food and medicine, and say "Cya!".

how much is soju in Toronto?
soju is around $6 plus u get Air miles when u buy liq in Toronto.
korea soju is like $.80-$1:mad:
they already said on the news, property tax for next year will go up about 7-9% depending on where you live. but either way, its going up.
when the inflated assestment price went up, gov't shrugged as property tax is based on that. now that the price is going back to its real level, the gov't raises its percentage of property tax to compensate...
plus then, you can exploite that shit, fly them to a tropical island, have cameras all around, broadcast that live, real life LOST, sell the rights to a broadcaster, make more money!
