Although still no where near top of class, the latest batch of Chinese cars aren't as bad as most people think in terms of crash safety. China has their own NCAP program now so things will likely continue to improve.

With that said though, I still won't buy a Chinese car right now, and probably won't for another 10-20 years. haha

They created the opposite problem in the first vid, from too soft of a frame to too stiff, some of those crumple zones will create so much g force that the passenger's organs will explode.

It crumples like a 80's Japanese tin can.... which is very good considering it took Japan many decades to get that far. I'd give it another 10-15 years before they're on par or better than Japanese cars.
