	         | THE FINGER: Know Its Foreign Equivalents

Not too long ago we had this chick at work that had just come back from living a year in Britain. Being the Asian that I am, I sometimes feel the urge to do the "V" sign. Being a guy, I thought, oh that looks t3h girlie so I'll rotate it so it faces me. Nyuk nyuk. She freaks out and tells me that's a SUPER rude thing to do in the UK, but she didn't elaborate so I was all
Dunno why, but I thought of that episode on my way home, so I said, what the hey! I'll look it up. Found the meaning of that "backwards V" as well as some other gems here. ahahahah
(the idiots spelt "foreign" wrong, but then, who gives a *FISTPUMPBICEPSLAP*?) http://www.ooze.com/finger/html/foriegn.html
My fave hahaha: Quote: | This macho combination of a gigantic erect penis and a threatening fist says, 'Fuck off!', or 'Up yours!' very vehemently. As a special bonus, the slapping of the hand against the opposing arm makes it seem as if the super-penis has gone so far up the recipient's receiving canal, it can't go any further. Although it's not necessarily a homosexual gesture, the violated canal is presumably anal, and not vaginal. Not to be outdone by namby-pamby Europeans, Americans (and also the Portuguese) combine both gestures simultaneously, offering a special double dong attack. | |

The question is, what's the universal gesture for "HELLL YEAAAHHH" or something positive? Can't pump fists, raise the roof, thumbs up... |

It's a diss in Britain. It goes back to ancient times when Britain is in war with France. Britain is known for their long bows and soldiers cut off their fingers (thumb, middle, & fourth) to increase accuracy/range. French ridicule the Brits using a backward "V" to show that they only have 2 fingers.

I just flipped the British bird with my transit pass at a heartless bus driver who wouldn't open the door at this station while this poor old lady in front of me froze. Wtf... useless.
Next time I see this driver I'll try one of the other ones. Excuse my French but, FUCK transit.
