With the US economy crashing around us, new legislation introduced in California that would legalize pot could not only provide the government much needed tax revenue, but also save billions on enforcement.

it is not like the laws are preventing anyone from using it so why not tax it.

with vansterdam alone we could pay for the olympic village.

No it wouldn't. It would be readily more available, and the government would produce the best quality shit. Imagine perfectly rolled joint's coming in cigarette pack.

In my opinion, as long as we have the U.S. of A. to the south of us, pot will not be legalized.

imagine them starting at 10$ a pack. then 12, then 14 then 20. id rather not. and the gov would not sell it itself. just legalize it. private companies would come in and sell garbage bud for cheap, and charge crazy premiums for the good stuff. even if it was legal id probably just grow my own.
