late 90's white SUV, Fat and Balding, Thanks for almost killing me on Glanford @ Vanalman, you decided to turn with no single/warning or a shoulder check. at the last fucking moment, cutting the corner extremely short, and almost taking me out on my bike. Oh yes, I was watching your mirror because if I don't I'd be dead because some fucking moron driver like you would fucking run me off the road.

Had I been a little kid who wouldn't have been able to respond as fast, you probably would have killed them.

FUCKING FAT FUCK.

you have to admit it is pretty sad how many cyclists expect to be treated like they have the rights of a vehicle on the road and then go ahead and lay down countless moving violations

Exactly, are you a vehicle or a bicycle??? pick one and use the appropriate rules

Same goes for all those idiots on electric bicycles that decide to travel in the lane at 30kph. if you cant insure it by ICBC to be used on public roads stay to the bike lanes

Yes your right, but they also have their own designated lane for travel.
If I am mistaken and their is no bike lane where your incident occured then please disregard previous statement

If you have to follow the same rules as cars and trucks, dont you have to stay far enough back as to react to their actions? If the driver had made a late turn, and you drove into the side of them, whos fault would the accident be?

Yup, there is a bike lane on Glanford at that location, I was in the lane too :)

Oh, and the reason why most cyclists ride ON the line, is to make them selves more visible, so drivers don`t do stupid things like what happened to me. Kind of reminds me of the `Awareness section` when taking your drivers license test and they ask `How many hazards do you see`.

If I am riding on the road, I keep my distance, but in this situation I was in the Bike lane, so it`s not really possible to stay a certain distance back from a vehicle. If I am in a bike lane, come up to a light, and see a turn single on, I keep my distance so they can turn, as the majority of drivers don`t see cyclists (In my experience).

Make yourself more visible by riding on the line? Fuck off please, thats why we have to swerve into the other lane to avoid hitting your dumb ass, because your bars and body are in the damn lane.

I'm curious to see who's at fault for that situation...they were riding illegally which caused the driver to pass illegally (Solid yellow). Lose/lose.

I can't speak for other people, but I have been hit by one car. The driver pulled over with no single/shoulder checks from 2 lanes over, so forgive me for being a little paranoid on my bike; being hit once is enough for me as its the scariest thing that's ever happened to me. Riding along doing my thing, then laying on the payment fucked up, it's not cool. I will do every fucking thing possible to make my self more visible.

Two feet isn't going to make you that much more visible. If people aren't gonna look, it doesn't make a difference.

Actually passing on a single solid yellow is legal.. assuming its safe too. and in this case it obviously was not because he got smoked by another car.

Had those riders been in single file it would not have happened so i think they should be at fault
