flash photography..

got a question. I'm trying to get into flash photography(strobist?) and i was wondering if what kind of wireless transmitter device should i be using to trigger like an SB-25.

I went to broadway camera and they told me to get pocket wizards. but in order for an off-camera flash to work, i'd have to get 2 pocket wizards. 1 for the flash and 1 for the body. the body i'm using is d300.

is there any other device out there that would make my SB-25 to work just fine if i do off-camera flash?? just for the mean time.. TIA
