Just curious on those whose purchased it what your opinions are on it and where you purchased it and for how much?
I'm traveling for quiet some time and I liked the video feature to capture moments that are important on film.

You mean Nikon?
I've got one and have been using it since about the time it came out and i'm loving it!
the high ISO performance is really nice and the video is good but I find that I dont use it that much, but I bought it for the pictures.
Also the built in autofocus motor is key so that you can use the older lenses unlike on the D40 where you are limited to AFS lenses.

Using it, Love it..
High ISO is awesome
Video function is cool, but i also find I dont use it as much as I thought I would - that and it eats up MAJOR memory
I love the size of it compared to say the Canon 40D and 50D - its a bit smaller and much lighter than the 50D. - Feels better in my hands

Is it a bigg diff in performance at HIgh ISO compared to D80? I have a D80 and am just curious if the price difference to upgrade is worthwhile.

I know that I have shot some ISO3200 shots that look surprisingly clean
If you already have a D80 I would save the money and put it into lenses, unless you really want video and better high ISO.

lol noise.
if you arn't printing insanely large prints then you should just stfu about noise already. 20d's and d50's were very capable at iso 1600.

Alright so I went to London Drugs to take a look and the price I got including the lens was $1449. Sounds about right to those who've purchased it?
Now, the guy suggested I wait to try out the Panasonic G1H as its able to shoot in 1080p and is in stereo sound not mono. I presume none of your have tried this camera out, but what are your opinions on it.

You want a good DSLR, get the Nikon. You want video recording, get a video camera... Simple as that.

Simple as that. | Well the point of the posting is that because im traveling and trekking (base camp everest and most of the Himilayas) I'd love the opportunity to only have to carry one device. So in this case...no its not as simple as that. Its why i'm asking questions about the video function on this camera and the Panasonic to those who've maybe tried it.

Video function on a DSLR is gonna eat up your memory like no tomorrow if you're doing 1080 or 720p, so you either shell out bunch of cash on lots of memory cards, or like I said, get a dedicated video camera with a hard drive or something. Personally, I'd rather have a good quality DSLR for photos and not bother with video.

Get a DSLR that's at least weather sealed for that. D90 is also manual focus for video, I believe.
