It is! It's not only extremely efficient, it's also easy to work with. Because of it's physical properties, you won't need to blanket the area that rattles. You'll probably get away with half a sheet for the roof and another for the trunk. One more for each door and then another for good measure. That would be 5 sheets.

I ordered a 50 ft roll of the ultimate directly from them. awesome service. it was at my door in less than 48 hours.

whatever you do, dont use cheap ashphalt based material... spend a bit more for the butyl rubber type, it takes half as much to do the same job, and it doesnt stink or get messy if heated up. (on really hot summer days).

i got this stuff from lowes in bellingham. Cost me $130 to do every square inch of my fullsize regular cab pickup.

Called peel and seal roofing patch. Made a big difference cutting down the noise of my diesel engine.

I remember using that stuff years ago in my Prelude. It is absolutely HORRIBLE and I will never use it again!

3 months after heat-applying it to my trunk lid it heated up and came off...emitting this horrid smelling asphalt stank that never went away for as long as I owned the car. Peal and seal is for house roofs, NOT cars! Same goes for FAT MAT, Dynamat regular, B-quiet, E-dead and all the other asphalt-based sound deadeners. They don't stick, they stink like French people's assholes and they are not flexible enough to be useful.

Once you go poly-butyl, you NEVER go back!

Actually Check out www.cascadeaudio.com

VB2
They make vinyl dampening material with no odor and no mess like the butyl stuff, thinner and stiffer so less weight but with more strength.

This is designed for automotive vehicles and they use them for Airplanes. Great stuff, and now priced very reasonable!

i used some butyl based roofing material at first to do the front doors in my explorer and it worked fine. No odour...no adhesion problems...was much cheaper than any deadener out there.

However dbdrag rules stated im only allowed 2 layers at any given locations so I replaced with dynamat extreme and it deadened better than 6 layers of the roofing stuff I used.

Heres a pic of what my doors looked like. My two front doors alone...inner and outer skin had just over 36 sq feet of deadener on them. Thats equivalent to over one whole dynamat bulk kit!

To the original poster. I have 1 1/2 bulk kits of dynamat extreme left if ur still looking. PM me if needed. Im in abby but can come to you.

Also just food for thought...the absolute best deadeners in the world work totally different than dynamat, hushmat, e-dead, etc....they harden like concrete.

Best deadeners in the world..in no particular order:
magic mate 400
db blue
vibraflex

Db blue is a paste type product that spreads easily similar to bondo before hardened.

Also for deadening on a budget dont forgot expanding foam. Horrible stuff to work with but great results if done right.

This year the deadening in my car will consist of MDF, expanding foam, and resin mixed with sand.

Yah, I have no odor or anything with my roofing tar. Just get it toasty when you apply it and it's not coming off.

Another thing for sound deadening I have seen is Lead sheets. Heavy and blocks out lots of sound. Just don't lick them

I have quite a bit of fatmat at my shop...maybe 80 square feet. I can sell it to you for $100 which includes the roller. You pay CDN, no shipping charges, no dutes and brokerage.

i was looking at that as well. but i got a buddy who hooked it up. he was doing his boat and some other stuff so he had alot left over for me to take for DIRT cheap. so i scored.

but i think fatmat isnt as good as dynamat extreme. or atleast itll take a few layers to get the same effect!
