i like the styling!

where does this car fit in their line up?

looks bigger than a jetta for sure. maybe the passat becomes midsize and this is the new flagship?

what ever happened to the phantom.

sorry, im pretty ignorant about vw's...

This I believe is replacing the Passat.

As for phantoms they are actually phaetons :p and they stopped production in 2006. They were not selling enough

CC is the coupe version of Passat, it is not replacing it. Its actually called the Passat CC in Canada.

If it's the "Gold Coast" edition the drivers seat should be on the right.

Why still kept the Corolla style tails? The front end look so sexy.........

that's fucking hot!
I think it's the best design they've come up with so far.

The CC's have been in dealerships since Dec, seen one driving in Toronto a few weeks ago. It's a hot carbut I hate the rear so much, it looks so bloody ugly.

The car has four doors... How is it a coupe?

Looks nice. Wow, it comes with R8 Ceramic brakes as well... Isn't that a little overboard for this? Unless it's becoming standard now.

I just saw the new CC on Speed-Channel. Supposedly, the CC is following the Benz CLS 4-Door/Coupe design.

Which IMO is a WIN for VW. Good looking car!

The Front is nice, but the Rear is butt ugly

Harvey Specter

It really is a good looking car minus the rear. I'm currently in the market for a new car and the CC is on top of my list of cars because it looks good, pretty good build quality, cheap lease payments and from what I’ve read it has great fuel economy.

The CC in general is a very tempting car at a starting price of 34k, which is the same price of a loaded GTI

Too bad its sluggish

Very nice! ^ I don't think these cars are meant to be driven like a track car, so it's sluggish for the softer comfortable feel.

You need the oem kit to fill it out, then it looks good. I am telling my dad to look into one (3.6 4-motion), or the bmw 335.

agreed. however when you mash the acelerator of a base MB CLS - it wont dissapoint. Your wallet will be though.

Really!? I haven't driven a lot of cars, but I've driven a CLS550. It feels very sluggish and handles like a boat. When you accelerate, the whole car feels like it's lifting off! Maybe it's because I'm used to the Evo...

does anyone have fuel economy numbers for the 3.6L V6 model? this is the same drivetrain that is in the R32 (which we don't get), and the mileage numbers for that car are not that great compared to the 2.0T.

going back to the original post w/regards to the gold coast model...

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/vwccgoldcoast---17.jpg

it says on the spec sheet that the rear brakes are "stock"... those don't look stock to me :o

the R32 gets a 3.2L V6 engine. the Passat CC has a 3.6.

R32 (which we don't get)

Here in Winnipeg, I've seen R32s..... I heard a few was around, i saw at least 2 blue ones....

And too bad the 2.0T doesn't have AWD and neither have DSG...
the car is alright, but I just don't like feeling ripped off since Euro models have a lot more toys... iirc, DSG, active cruise, auto park etc... I forgot, but there's quite a few things that we don't get...

Probably, it's put for sale in a VW dealer though. :p seems like the owner of the dealer knows there's a market.

i believe it had apr stage 3

it did have the prototype TSI APR Stage 3 setup...

APR released their Stage 3 kit to the market on Tuesday...

The CC Eco-concept @ Sema was hot! They also did a Stage 3 tiguan with AWD... both had automatic gear boxes though so the power was limited to a certain number (can't remember) but the CC actually got better fuel economy as a Stage 3 setup than it did stock...

Got to explore the concept inside and out... it's an amazing car! Definitely worthy of the Grand Turismo "Best European" Award...
