yup, the good ol' american troops were too dumb to notice it was a lambo, so they used it for explosives practice. they toasted a lot of his cars.

American! Fuck yeah!

Wouldn't necessarily say they were too dumb to notice... rather, they probably simply didn't care. To some people, a car is a car. To me a cell phone is simply a device I use to talk on and a pair of shoes is simply there to be warn, yet to others they collect the rare ones and make sure they're always in perfect condition. Me? I destroy mine when I'm done with 'em.

To each their own.

I'm the same way about phones, however there's a large price gap between these. Don't tell me they couldn't have found a cheaper car to blow up, and sold the Lambo, after all the US needs every $ it can get.

True, but if you look at the interior pictures, it looks pretty well picked over already. Chances are they blew it up because it no longer ran. Yes, it's a rare LM002 but finding parts to replace everything that was missing was likely to be virtually impossible.

Don't get me wrong, though... I'm sad they blew it up.

Werd, I'm one of those people... a car's a car... It's all relative, if I were filthy rich, my MR2 would be a Murcielago and I still wouldn't bother to wash it or maintain it... just do what I did with all my previous cars. Drive it to the ground and move on..

true enough, thats the sad part about these massive car collections, almost all of the cars become junk because the don't get driven or maintained.

Just read up on the LM002, very interesting. Per wikipedia:

"On July 18, 2004, at a US military base near Baqubah, members of the American military used an LM002 that had belonged to Uday Hussein to simulate the effects of a car bomb, not knowing of its rarity or value. The LM002 was destroyed during the test. [7]"

The Countach came at least 10 years prior to the LM002. Lambo tried out V8 motors from Chrysler and AMC before going with it's own Countach V12

^^

Yep, Lambo started making tractors before they made sportscars. It's actually going back to roots for them to make a truck.
