: Edison Chen threatened with golden bullet

Edison Chen, the Vancouver-born actor and singer at the centre of a celebrity sex photo scandal, has been threatened with a gold-coloured bullet.

The bullet was sent to the Hong Kong television station Cable TV on Thursday with a typed letter warning Edison not to appear in public view after April 4.

Cable TV publicist Jacqueline Cheung said the letter did not specifically mention the sex photo scandal.

"We hope Edison Chen will take this warning seriously, otherwise his personal safety will be threatened," the letter says.

Chen caused an uproar in Asia's conservative ethnic Chinese community when photos showing him performing sex acts with eight Hong Kong actresses and singers were distributed over the internet last year.

Chen admitted he took the photographs and apologized.

Police in Hong Kong, Taipei and mainland China eventually arrested several people in the distribution of the photographs.

In February, Chen appeared in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver to testify about his role in the scandal for a trial that will be held in Hong Kong next month. The Hong Kong court booked the courtroom to hear Chen's testimony.

He testified he never intended anyone to see the explicit photographs, and that the photos were leaked when he sent his computer to a shop for repair.

The bullet and letter arrived 13 days after Chen made two public appearances in Singapore after a year of self-imposed exile, and just a day after Gillian Chung Yan-tung, one of the women involved in the scandal, tried to resurrect her career by launching a brand of jeans.

Chen has refused to return to Hong Kong to participate in the trial of Sze Ho-Chun, a Hong Kong computer technician who has been charged with distributing the photos.

The trial is scheduled to begin April 6.

If the bullet is indeed made of gold, that means whoever making that threat is probably rich and serious about his threat...instead of it being some jackass fooling around.

The trial want him for witness probably to confirm Edison handed his laptop to this person being tried for stealing the information inside.

never liked the guy, but being able to bang a bunch of celebrity and convince them to take nude photos with him = WIN!

Those weren't the only girls he took photos of. There was at least one girl who was almost certainly 16, depending on when the photos were taken (possibly 17). And another was at most, 18 years old.

Everyone talks about the 'famous' girls in the photos, but they weren't the only ones.
