Pretty sweet car overall, seen a couple in person and they look alot nicer than they do in pictures. The prices are actually really damn good compared to a Mustang, Challenger or new Camaro, not sure what else its competing with but.. $34,995 final, delivered sale price on a 3.8L, 6spd manual, limited slip, leather, full power package, Infinity sound system, HID headlamps, 306hp, 19" wheels, well equipped car for the price. Can get even more fancy with an extra $2000 and get the GT package, it comes with all the luxury options, Brembo brakes, Strut tower bars, performance suspension etc..

Then theres the cheaper 2.0L Turbo models.. pretty sweet aswell.

first and only Hyundai ive ever liked, I love it.

I think it's an amazing car. The 2.0T is where it's at, seeing as how it's the same powerplant used in Mitsubishi Evo's. Ton's of potential.

I was more excited about the 2.0T before I found out it weighs 140lbs more than the V6 Mustang it's supposed to compete with, and makes about 10% less torque. It'll be nice to see some real world numbers on the performance of the car once some magazines get their hands on some production mules for testing.

The value still looks to be there with this car though, as the price is relatively low, and the stock feature list seems pretty long.

And apparently 5 point multi link suspension, while even a pricey Porsche 911 has a Mcpherson strut. After finally seeing the car in person twice I actually don't think it looks too bad, despite my initial reaction to pictures. The font end should look cleaner in my opinion though.

I too think there are a few angles on the front that look sort of ugly, but the rest of the car I think is pure sex. The side profile and rear are amazing.

As Christian pointed out, I am also disappointed by how heavy the car is, but with the right mods and about 400 wheel horse, this car would be absolutely insane. It's so refreshing to see a car manufacturer bring out a RWD sports coupe that is priced where people can actually afford it. Kudos to Hyundai.

From Autoblog/ Edmunds: DYNO results on the 2L T -

As much as we're impressed by the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and its big, optional V6 engine, it's the little 2.0-liter turbocharged four banger that we're most excited about. The idea of a (relatively) lightweight and inexpensive rear-wheel drive coupe with a six-speed manual transmission is enough to make us weak in the knees, and the fact that it comes in a nice looking wrapper is an added bonus. Inside Line managed to score an early example from Hyundai equipped just the way we like it, and their testers have kindly strapped it on the dyno.

Fortunately, the results don't disappoint, with the force-fed motor putting out 197 horsepower at the rear wheel and a peak of 227 lb-ft of torque at just 2500 rpm. Those figures compare very favorably with Hyundai's factory ratings of 210 ponies and 223 lb-ft, meaning that this little Korean's power is probably underrated by a fair margin. Looking at the graphs, it's also clear that there's plenty more to be extracted with a bit of tuning and a proper (uncrimped) exhaust system.

I bought the 3.8 on Saturday and love it so far. Goes in tomorrow for rims and tint, more plans to come down the road.

I know, I know it's a Hyundai but this is not Hyundai you have ever driven I can guarantee you that!

Still waiting for springs to lower it but that will come in time. Also the picture doesn't do the rims justice IMHO but more to come on Sunday when it's nice and I have the day off to take more. Its raining off and on and I melt in it, so no more pictures today. ;)

Nice, those wheels look awesome on it. I saw a black one a few days ago with I think were stock wheels and I personally didn't like it. It reminded me of the tiburon but you set up looks really good.

i was looking at the 2.0 GT model, but decided to wait to see what kind of aftermarket support that car is going to have, and for the prices to drop.

If you can get me the springs it will happen tomorrow :p

I am just waiting for aftermarket stuff to be available, I have the cash and I am almost starting to this coilovers might be the better choice though more expensive.

For what hyundai is trying to do, I commend them

As far as the car is concerned, as long as its not a hyundai powerplant, it should be a decent car.

I've had first hand experience with new/newer hyundai's and their engines.
I wouldn't trust it to be turboed :P OR if ti was, never exceed stock haha.

But again, they are bringing the affordable sports coupe back into the game. I hope the other manufacturers come play ball too.

same motor as the lancer (not evo) in the 2.0T. I'm waiting for an evo block swap from a decent shop, likely see 600+hp cars in the near future.

I went in and test drove a 2.0T and was pretty impressed but i found it a little to large of a car, its heavy and rides on the same chassy as the Sedan so all in all im not sure I would buy one anymore. I'd kinda rather just supercharge a 08 Tiburon.

Thats a really sick car though, i hope i see you driving it around Victoria sometime.

Go to $$$$$$$$ beside Walmart town and country, or behind the Budget store on the highway! ask for Chris there hes a cool guy. What about your warrenty though? what kinda mods can you safly do without vioding it?

I test drove a red 2.0T premium package Genesis coupe day. It's an extremely nice car. Handling is great (only drove it with traction control off), interior is super comfy and quiet, gear box felt nice. I'd buy one if the miata was written off. Beautiful car.

Supercharging a Tibby instead of buying a Genesis? Its FWD man, the cars are not comparable.

I wouldnt count out the tibbie over a genesis souly based on RWD Vs RWD. Both cars have lots of potential in the aftermarket world one being supercharged and the other turbocharged (turbo lag vs power right away). I personaly have drivin both, a 2008 V6 Tib and a 2010 Gen Coupe 2.0 and found the Tiburon a nicer drive. The Tiburon is a little underpowerd and has kinda loud street noise but its 325lbs lighter and i found the trans on the Genesis very difficult and jerky while i was totally shocked on how smooth and easy the clutch and trans work on the Tiburon. I also dont like how long the Genesis is, it rides on the same chassie as the Sedan? thats a disapointment. I almost bought a white Gen, but i held back and im pretty sure my next car will be Tiburon.

I don't know, I drove the Tiburon and it didn't feel nearly as refined. Felt really similar to a 1994 MX-6. The genesis sedan is amazing, and I'm totally fine with the coupe being based off of it.
