unfortunately, I don't think anyone will be doing free eye exams.
Not sure if you tell them you are jobless will help either.
Who do you normally go to for eye exams? MAybe talk to them about options.

Yah.. i've seen some advertsements like that as well
I think almost all eye exams are around 60ish bucks.. the cheapest place i found before was inside T&T plaza in richmond... its a little store..
get a referral from your family doctor and it should be free as long as you have bc medical

Eye exams are no longer covered under MSP unless you're over the age of 65 or under the age of 18. It's been like that for a while now.

Most eyeglass stores will do a test to check your vision for free, but you'll need to see an optometrist to do a full eye exam for the health of your eye.

If you complain to you doctor about seeing many "floaters", then you will get sent to an ophthalmologist. Those people will do THOROUGH examinations.
^ lol way to abuse the system
