Already insured :D

A bit early, but did it so I wouldn't have to pay the $80 towing fee to get it home from the dealer. :) It's actually not that bad. Only my hands got cold.

Anyone up for a rip this weekend? :D

i remember that charger a few yrs ago as well. First time I went up cypress with my coworker, he kept pushing me faster but I was on my ex500 at that time, so I lane changed and let him pass and he'd go flying up the road. Once he was gone, I started to speed up and eventually catch up. He'd do the same thing all over again. My coworker was on his GSXR 750 and of course he was way ahead of me and at the top, asked me what took so long. I didn't know that was a cop at that time, but IMO, it's kind of stupid for him/her to push some rider to speed like that and try to bust him. Thank god that bike was gutless going uphill. :haha:

That 750 gsxr is seeeeeex. But, IMO, Earplugs FTL.
I sold my bike last season (friggin education..) but Im soooooo tempted to get another this year, same model (02F4I, I looove that bike) (or an 07 750, if i get a good deal). In a delmna...I got the money in savings, but dunno what to dooooo!

haha, thanks dood, glad you like it. i like the loudness, but i don't like my ears ringing so i recommend ear plugs for anyone who rides a lot. (wind noise from a helmet isn't good for you when it comes to long trips either).

look for a gixxer as they're come up cheap on the buy and sells...they don't hold value like the Honda since they're squidly bikes ;)

750 is a lot of power though and i don't recommend it to newer riders (not saying you are mc25). it does feel like a 600 below 8000rpm, but once you go past 8000, it's a whole other machine!

Second that, last season I was riding spirited on lookout corner. I saw it when I was coming down but I didn't realize it at the time. Took my corner and saw him on the corner of my eye when I was exiting the corner and he was trying to stop me. I was lucky he lost continuity though because I kept going.

how was it? i was thinking of doing the ART course this year as well.

It was great! First time I've ever been to a track, even though it was only Mission. Great weather and freshly broken in Diablo Corsa 3's that had 100km on the dot, now sport tire meltage blisters. Haha.

If your thinking of going through West Coast, instead of taking the ART, do the Racer Training. That's what I did and the difference is you get to go to Mission. The ART course doesn't.

All in all, the course experience was good. I definitely had fun doing it. Even got to do some minor puck scrapage on my new puck sliders.

Sounds like you had a great time! Did you have to wire up your bike for this?

The thing i like about the ART course is that they will allow my bike there even though i have a full system (it's kinda loud). and i know Mission doesn't allow anything other than a stock system for bikes. changing mine back out just isn't worth the trouble since my cat is welded to the header piping :(

my puck sliders are still virgin... :)

No, safety wire is only necessary when you go racing in WMRC. With ART you'll still have fun, but Mission is where you'll grin in your helmet..haha. But for Mission, noise level is 88db when I was there. If you are over the allowable db, you can buy these silencer plugs. Also wrapping your intake and exhaust system will also lower the db, unless you wanted a super loud exhaust?

As for your virgin sliders, concentrate on your body position first and the knee sliding will come when you can take a turn at faster speeds. What I was told was, if your doing what you can to scrape your pucks, your already riding above your skill level.

I wasn't planning on doing the May 15th one, but that can always change at last minute. But I need some new front brakes cause I toasted mine last friday. I was planning on doing the June 12th one. My brother is with the UBC Motorcycle Club, and they had a nice outing, like 6-7 guys were going on the track, we also had a huge gazebo and had a BBQ going. We were set with food and drinks. They also had the gf's cooking and a few guys were helping out and hanging out watching the rest of us on the track. They were my support group.:D

Luckily my brothers friend lent me his GMC full size pickup. He's gonna lend it to me again to truck my bike out to Mission.:D

Good info, thanks dood!

As for my exhaust, the '08 GSXR750 has the cat welded to the header. I bought a slip-on originally but it only increased sound by 1-2 dB at most...wasn't enough for my needs ;) so i ended up buying the full R55 system and it's actually louder than i expected...not rediculously loud like an M4/Two Bros/D&D, but still loud in my opinion. not that it's a bad thing for me, but i can see it being an issue on track (even with the yoshimura silencer plug in there).

I'm still working on my body position as i ride, but it's tough to do that kind of stuff on the streets. the only place i can really have some fun is cypress or seymour mtn. i've been told to shift my ass more and try to plant my face to the mirror for a better angle. for some reason, can't get the knee down even though i had only 1-2mm of 'chicken strip' left on my rear tire last year (not the smartest thing to do on the streets, that's for sure).

Yeah, I used to do it at cypress/seymour runs. Not a very good idea at all. haha. If you can't get your knee down but your strips are almost non-existant, your not hanging off the bike and your bike is leaned too far over. Your dangerously close to lowsiding if you hit a patch that doesn't have much traction. Those vids are pretty good, especially the last one on how and why you should hang off the bike. Heres some tips to help you out

-Ass off the seat, ideally you want at least your ass-crack to be off the seat, but it should be where 1/2 of your 1 cheek is touching the seat while the other cheek is completely off.

-Balls of your feet on the pegs

-As for where to look, look around your mirror but your head position would be on the outside part of your mirror.

-As you enter the turn, weight on the inside peg, as you exit and accelerate, weight on the outside peg.

-Shoulder should be in line with your knee.

-Loosen up your arms!!

-Don't sit right up against the tank, sit in the middle of the seat, you will actually see the taller riders have their ass scoot near the back of the seat.

What you should do is what they did in those vids. Have your bike on stands and have a buddy help keep the bike stable as you practice hanging off the bike. It helps to know how it feels. If I think of what else I'll post it

SuperSlowSS - Nice finds on those vids:thumbsup:
