I'm sure many people took this opportunity to wash their rides for tomorrow's annual meet.
The weather is awesome too so break out your D-SLRs and let's share some clean rides.
And share some stories about your ride too! :D
I'm gonna go wash mine now be back with pics soon. :p

Washed with Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss and wheels/tires/wheel wells with Majestic Solutions Super Green Stuff 2:1. I also cleaned the leather, windows, door jams, trim, and conditioned the leather, and dressed the vinyls. Tires dressed with FK108 and so far they haven't showed any kind of sling. Love the new dressing, gives a nice matte finish.

So pissed off right now. I work at Showroom Auto Spa, and so I just gussied up my car for tomorrow by washing + waxing the car after I clocked off... it was all nice and shiny.
AND SOMEONE WENT AND SCRAPED IT! And I have no clue how this happened, because it's the rear passenger-side door, and it's LONG and BIG and DEEP. It's like a big oval around the wheel well.
What the fuck. So unhappy. :( And the car is still pretty new too.

I honestly don't know how, but detailing just became a hobby of mine. I put my own money into quality products and NOT my parents. Just became a random hobby, I don't even own a car but I like to detail. I guess a big part of it is seeing the end result.

K20a happens to know a few things, and one of the things K20a knows is that; It's not how you wash your car, it's how you race your car. You better learn that.

They're not bad, seem durable. Pretty good quality (its rubber...) and gives a decent boost in pressure. But it's only so good with so much pressure

drying the car with a leaf blower? lol
BrendanS
03-22-2009, 01:37 AM
Yeah my neighbors think im crazy but it's actually pretty common with detailers. It gets the water out of tight cracks and makes it so you can dry the car with just one towel. Does a really really good job. Specially on windows, it pretty much makes it so you dont have streaks on the outside when drying

I'd be worred about the leaf blower kicking u p some rocks or dirt from the ground on to my car...
-edit - wait a minute, now I realized you do that in the garage.

Yup I use the leaf blower to blow the debris off the garage floor first and then I move the car in. It works well. You can do it outside as well though, as long as your not stupid and blowing the ground next to your car you should be good.

how do yall clean your MF? I'm about to splurge and invest in some good waffle weave MF for drying + MF applicator pad 4 applying LSP and i want them to last. Can I just throw it into my top feed washer with liquid detergent than throw it in dryer? the the applicator pad fall apart int he washer or dryer?....
thats how i wash my crappy tire MF and i notice there are still some light debris on the MF after the wash and dry also it doesn't seem to absorb as much water now...

Ken got it from me. He had an order from proper auto care and he combined his order with mine.

PM Ken though, he may be able to get you something even better. No promises though.

Liquid detergent pretty much makes it less absorbent. But I would highly recommend investing in some good MFs. I mean why would you want to wax a car and while doing so do more damage than good. Ken has a great selection of MF towels. The thing is, all of the products that Ken sells he has used and stands behind them. Whether it's just microfiber detergent or brushes. He's used them all and only sells what he has used and stands behind.

I got my MF wash from Ken and also have these from him

http://autowerkesexclusive.com/products/Microfibre/Werkstat-Plush-Towel/index.html
Both are great towels, you can't go wrong with any of them. I'd order 3 of each so you know what you like.

threezero: its funny you should ask that, because I was discussing this with ken on saturday. He said liquid detergent, or you can just smother your MF's in dish soap and give'em a good scrub and rinse well.

I guess that works as well. Boiling works as well but, I'd soak them in dish soap and scrub and then go ahead and wash them in MF detergent.
