Are continuous ink systems for printers any good or do they break down easily?

I thought inkjet was dead already. I would put the cost of the continuous ink towards a color laser printer, instead.

Cheap colour lasers won't print photos as nice as inkjets on photopaper. Plus there's no glossy media that I know of. I've had mine for about a year. Never broken down. Just requires the occasional printhead cleaning.
