: So I got keyed tonight...

The whole damn drivers side..
This was around BCIT burnaby campus

So for anyone that goes to night classes keep an eye on your car!


And I have a question..
If I have replacement insurance on the car, does that mean that any bodywork has to be done by morrey nissan?

Replacement Insurance doesn't do anything in a keyed situation. Replacement Cost comes in when your car gets into an accident, and if the car is written off, ICBC or whoever will buy you a new one.

Also... What are the procedures with icbc for that kind of situation?
Does your insurance go up? Or it does not affect anything since its not your fault? Do you pay the deductible?

When I used my replacement insurance icbc required the autobody shop to use oem parts only

true. no non-oem/used parts. any bodyshop can do that. but if this is just paint damage then this dosen't apply.

How bad is the damage to the drivers side? If it's minor, I don't think it's worth stressing with it.

The car is an 08 Sentra SE-R, the funny thing is it was only MY car that was hit. I checked around and nobody else had been keyed.

dvxo, I think the damage is definitely worth stressing over. Its the entire driver's side from headlight to rear bumper

s2k 604, as far as I know it doesnt have any negative effects on your insurance. The procedure was pretty simple. I called icbc to file my claim and they asked a bunch of questions. Where it happened, where I parked, what kind of car, any witnesses etc.

Then they asked what shop I would like to use, and the only one near me is new west collision. They said my claim qualifies for direct service so I drove over the NWC and they took a quick look, copied my registration and snapped a few pictures.

ive been keyed at Bcit once a few years back. got a new paint job on my EK =)
