Asus MB + HDMI + LCD = No Worky

I've got an Asus P5Q-EM motherboard and it comes with an onboard HDMI-out. I'm also running an HIS Radeon HD 2600 Pro video card. Stupid question, but since the video card is hooked up, does it render the onboard HDMI useless? I don't have a DVI to HDMI adaptor and was hoping to simply use the HDMI-out, but I can't even find the driver for it in my Device Manager anymore...
Soooo confused. Just when I think I'm back to knowing what the hell I'm doing with computers, a simple problem throws me for a loop...

check ur BIOS, see if the onboard videocard is disabled or not, if it's disabled it wont detect under device manager

I don't own that asus mb, but I am confident to say, in your bios, you have to select
which device is the initial display. Try to find an option that says PCI/PEG in the manual
I believe you have to disable either one, you can't have both display card running at the
same thing.
In your case, it's easier to buy a DVI-> HDMI adapter, I am sure a lot of people have one
sitting around, and they don't usually cost a lot.

The sad thing is I work a two minute walk away from NCIX. I was just hoping to keep all of my hardware to a minimum, particularly because there'll be little kid hands playing around the computer tower. It's easier on the computer (and cable) if they only pull out the HDMI cable, as opposed to reefing on an adapter that's screwed into the video card.
Oh well. Since I need to run my computer monitor at the same time, I'll just fork out the couple dollars and pick up an adapter.

You mean this ATI adapter for 8.99 + shipping?

if you right click on your desktop > properties > settings, the drop down box doesn't show the integrated graphics ont he MB? I believe it's there you can change your output.
If it's not there, you can try detect new hardware in device manager. If that doesn't give any results, you could always try installing the drivers manually by going to the MB's website and downloading them.
