I bought a pair of 7's today, they are a dark wash, I'm noticing that they are losing a lot of color, so much that my hands are blue.....is this normal? And if I wash them, will they lose a lot of the color?

I haven't washed them yet. I just bought them today and was just wearing them around the house. Just touching them stained my hands blue. I haven't had any 7's before so I dunno if it's normal for these jeans to lose that much color even when they're dry... and not sure if that will make my jeans look lighter if I wash them.

if u want the bleeding to stop, u have to wash them. When u wash them, wash them inside out. It should stop the bleeding

thats weird they shouldnt make ur hands blue that much, go to the store and see if the other 7's are like that? When u wash them make sure they are inside out with cold water and add some salt to the wash.

does salt help the jeans from fading? Also when you guys throw it in the dryer, does it tend to shrink a lot?

Yeah salt helps keep in the color, and yes jeans probably will shrink a bit length wise, just lay them flat on a rack to let it air dry.

1. Turn jeans inside out.
2. Throw them in the washing machine wash with cold water.
3. Bring jeans out, turn outside in and hang to dry.

isnt the denim rough if you just hang dry it? Its usually the case for my Diesels. So thats why i always throw them in the dryer on medium heat after air drying.

WRONG.
Jeans will bleed regardless if you wash it 10000times or not. It's just how much bleeding will it bleed. You cant stop the natural bleeding of a pair of jeans. You can try cuffing your jeans if you're afraid of staining your shoes.

when ur washing it, the water and the soap helps take away the excess color that causes the bleeding. It won`t completely stop the bleeding, but it wouldnt bleed as much as it does now.

i had a pair of 7fam in mercer wash that used to bleed like you said. But it gets better, just avoid wearing white tees with it for a while. or as other users suggested you could try those remedies to "stop" bleeding.

That's correct. If you cuff your jeans, it can actually look pretty cool. Then again it doesn't work for everyone.

Denim like Rock and Republic, True Religion, 7 for all Mankind are "high-end" but not high quality. Coming from someone who used to work at BoysCo, it's not worth the money.

this post has educated me so much :)
actually, i just cleaned my white shoes last week, and also got my 7FAMS back from harry rosen for the altering, totally realize why all of a sudden my shoes are blue again... never happened with my rocks or trues, or at least not as much, but I like the comfort of the 7s
