Hey guys I'm planning on hanging out with a group of 12 - 16 people on a Saturday and need a restaurant that will accommodate us. I would prefer a izakaya or tapas restaurant. But I'm open to anything else as long as it's good and isn't expensive. I've already tried some restaurants but they're either too small or won't take reservations...

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try Hapa

I tried checking out this place but I saw on their site:
Reservations are not available between 6:00pm-8:00pm.Reservations made during the first sitting (5:30pm – 6:00pm) are requested to “return” the table by 8:00pm in order to accomodate guests arriving for the 8:00pm seating.

I was planning on getting there around 7pm but with my party I don't think I can given how busy they are... Maybe head down there after 8pm and hope they can seat us?

Also written on their site:
To ensure exceptional service for groups of 12 or more guests at our Robson Street location, and 13 or more guests at our Kitsilano location, we only offer our “omakase” (set) menu at $30 per person inclusive of applicable taxes and gratuities.

I'm pretty sure some people in my group won't be pleased to pay $30 for a meal before drinks... cuz lets face it some girls/guys can't eat that much and it wouldn't be fair for them to spend $30. Is their $30 omakase worth it?

Is Hapa's Kits location comparable to the Robson branch?

Anyone tried Toratatsu? I was thinking of trying Zakkushi on Denman but they seem like they might be too small. SOS

do NOT go to hapa. for a party that size there's also a 17% service charge included...realistically after drinks and taxes you're looking at 50 bucks. its ridiculous, and the food isnt even that good. you're just paying for the pretty waitresses and the pretension factor.

I think Azia will take reservations for that size. They're next to the Scotiabank Theatre and Earls.

obsideon will do a 5min pole dance show for you!

if ebisu could fit the RS mod dinner, then 12-16 ppl is completely possible. .

the vault? they only open it if the main restaurant area gets packed. and if u want to reserve it seperately they need a fairly large deposit.

i looked into it for an RS mod dinner meet.
