I stumbled upon this link today so i tried it out, and yup its true.
If you google any of the entries on this list and click on a certain link you will be asked to download a 'codec' which will infect you.
link talking about this infection:

If any of you guys happen to get infected PM me and I'll see what I can do for you :)

thanks for sharing, I passed this along to my man who recently did a lot of research on Fords before he bought one. You never know.

so... i think Kory's computer got infected with something - though we're not 100% sure.
Adam - any way of confirming this? He's literally had to do 2 different reformats recently, and it's still buggered up. (and he's pretty computer literate - worked in tech support/computer world forever).

Is he loading data from a backup? Might be worth having someone scan the backups. Could also be a hardware problem. How old is the computer?

he's reformatted again, scanned his backups and seems to be okay so far. It seemed to be in his back up files. He couldn't do any upgrades on his comp. (that april fools virus?)
HIs computer is about a year old. (laptop)
I'll pass that link along to him Adam! thanks :)
