I had one of the guys there call me at work asking about something watch related which I couldn't answer for him and he mentioned that he carries a selection of 'clearance' watches, Tag among other brands. Never been out there but I have seem there ads around.

Bought an Ipod from them a year ago, great deal and it came with a warranty so I can say that their shit works. They had tv's, computers and a ton of other shit there as well. Alot of people bought from them the day I was there.
They have pretty good feedback on Ebay..

and last year i bought my LCD tv from them i got it for $1200 and it was $2300 at Future Shop
they offered a 3 month warranty in store for both products....VERY good business + at the time cute asian receptionist!

No there just liquidators. They probably buy these electronics in bulk from the US and sell it for a bit more than unit price which is amazingly low. It seems legit and I'm itching to check it out, too bad its only open 2 days out of the week. I wonder why?

I checked it out today. I was looking at the Viewsonic 37" for 400 which is a good deal but for some reason, I dind't think it looked that great. Then I saw a Sharp Aquos 1080p for 700. It's 300 more and it's 1080p and has a name branded I trust more so I was leaning towards that.

Viewsonics biggest problem IMO is that the are a "monitor" manufacturer,so universal remotes don't have a code to use and you have to use two remotes.

SAMSUNG 50" HDTV DLP $299
^ da hell?
that seems pretty good to me.
I brought 2 TV's there during the last 3-4 months.
One was a Sony 720P 32" - $550 tax in pretty decent as I saved about 200-300 at that time. Colors are nice and the set was relatively new - still had the box
Other one was a Sharp 1080P 37" - $625 tax in. This unit was the last one there and was quite scratched up. I suspect this one was from a BE as it didn't have a box and when I asked the staff where it came from he was very hesitant to answer. Overall I probably saved 200-300 bucks as well. The unit itself took a bit of time to collaborate but overall it's decent and serves its purpose. The funny thing is that the Sony 720P has way better colors (deeper blacks)
Some advice for the people who are interested in buying from openboxco.
- Ask where the TV came from
- Ask for the box, manual
- Stay away from the asian reps (they really don't care about the job)
- Try and get one of the owners to help you (older caucasian men in the office)

expect every ipods to have some scratches
some are very clean but some itouches are so badly scratched, you can't barely even read writings on the back

if they did, ppl would be picking through hundreds of itouch boxes to see which one has less scratches
So how do you know some are super scratched and some aren't?

Well I bought a 47" LCD off of them, basically straight from the display to the ground with shrinkwrap and into my car. However I did get a 1 year warranty. TV had some scratches on the stand and was missing the manuals

Checked out their grand opening sale. There were some pretty sweet deals to be had. Picked up a 55-inch Samsung LED for 1100. It was crazy busy yesterday. Got there about 11:30 (30 mins before opening) and there were about 10 people, but then by the time the doors opened the line must've stretched out to 70 or 80 people, if not more. And when I left, the line was still pretty long, maybe 50.
As for warranty, I asked an employee, and he said warranty is for any technical/manufacturing problems. I asked about dead pixels, and he said there's no minimum # of dead pixels before warranty kicks in, so that's good. One year was included, and an additional year was 17% of the price of the TV. Not all TVs come with one year, some come with three months or something like that.

So you got that tv yesterday which is Saturday? Cause I went on Thursday and they said that tv is sold out and they won't have anymore till maybe next week. If so then openboxco just lied to my face. Don't know if I'll be buying a tv from them now.

Thanks for the explanation. I also got a raincheck on Thursday but I went back today to ask them "what the hell man?" :-D and they had the tv with a minor crack on the bezel for $50 off that was available. Maybe if it was $100-$150 off I would have taken it

i went there for that...that price was for a 3rd gen...ran out of the 8gb 4th gen...some of the tvs are awesome...i remember buying my lcd then for 899 and thought that was good deal...now for less it will be the led 120hz samsung which looked amazing...
the great thing is that they have the tvs tied to a single source so you can compare which one you want

I picked up my raincheck Samsung 55 LED tv on Thursday and as I expected, all these openbox.ca Samsung LED tv suffers from some major light leakage especially in the corners and major clouding issues. I don't mind it for the price I paid but if I paid regular price at Futureshop or Bestbuy, I would have exchanged it or returned it already.

Did you compare it to the display model? Because I stood there for at least 10 minutes watching the display model and it looked fine to me. But I don't really know how to look for those sorts of defects, so maybe I just have an untrained eye.

The reason I was expecting these problems on this tv is because openbox sells tv that have been returned or exchanged by customers of the big retail chains. It was probably returned because of the light bleeding and clouding issues common with this model of tv. It's kind of hard to see in the day time so that's why you probably didn't notice it on the display model. I notice it on my tv last night with the lights off and the screen was showing a very dark scene. I had a 52" Samsung LCD for 4 years that I just replaced with this and never once notice these issues on the old tv. But overall I'm still happy with my purchase. I just hope it last for at least 4-5 years before I buy a new tv.

In my experience, monitors that have light bleeding or poor lighting show up when they are on, but showing no picture. It's especially evident in a dark room with the lights off.
I'm not sure if you can do this with any of the openbox inventory, but I'd insist on cracking it open and taking a look without it displaying anything, the blank screen would show any sort of light bleeding or diffusion.

If you're looking for brand new TVs, look elsewhere.
If you're looking for refurbs or returned used TVs for a ridiculously good price that have no major problems (maybe some cosmetic) then this is the place to go.

I got a 32 inch LCD tv from openbox as a christmas gift a few years ago from the Surrey location, it had a weird dark spot in the middle of the screen.
When we brought it back they were awesome I was given the choice of getting another 32 inch tv of same value + store credit or get a nicer tv I ended up getting a 42 inch Samsung LED tv that I have now had for a few years and still works great to this day
I would buy something from them again for sure, the new smart tv's look pretty cool if the price is right I would consider buying one from them

Bought a 42" 1080p viewsonic LCD about 3 years ago for $300. Still going strong, no issues. - Surrey Location
Family got a 55" Sony LED 3D tv for $1000, under my recommendation to go there. Also in great condition with no issues. - Vancouver location
They do have a 1 year in store warranty. If it messes up within the year they'll exchange it.
I recommend them.
Last year bought a 42" Sony LED TV from them. They helped me unpackage the TV and plug it in right there in the store to verify the condition. Zero problems till this day.
We plan on buying our next TV there.
