| Chinese Visa Consulate
Has anybody applied or received a China Visa within the past few weeks or months? Is it still very busy in the morning? I remember when I went last October, people said they were lining up at 7am when the doors open at 9am just to get a number. Is it still that busy now? Just want to know because I plan on going down there on Monday and don't want to wake up early and go there just to be told that they are not giving out numbers anymore. Anyone suggest what time I should arrive?
Thanks

Arrive early. Like when they open. Even then you have like a hour or two wait.

You should definitely arrive early. I have no idea why but there are still so many freakin' people lining up. I went there 5 months ago to get my Visa for my HK trip and I had to wait in line for a while even though I arrived around 7. Perhaps it was my pure shitty luck.

When I went in the summer, I just hopped on a flight and went.

I've said this before: If you are ever travelling through Hong Kong on your way to China, get your visa done here. There is no lineup during weekdays, it's way cheaper, and you can get it right away if you want.

I heard you can only get a double entry which is why I didn't want to do it while im in HK. Need multi entry for 12 months.
Went there today, that place is so inefficient. They have a white guy working there and the room is so small. There are no signs or any help at all and it's total chaos there. Feel bad for the old people who have no clue whats going on.

Better then wasting a half day lining up at the crazy consulate on Broadway.

did they ban multi-entry visa applications in HK? I never knew about it. We decided that we'd do everything here beforehand because we didn't know the entire process.
And yes, I meant I got it so I could go to Guangzhou
What did the white guy do at the consulate? man a counter?

Feel bad for the old people who have no clue whats going on. | Not to my knowledge. I'm not sure why they would "ban" multi-entry visas depending on which country you're applying in. Those are hard to get without good reason anyway. Usually you will have to prove why you need to enter so many times within a year. Without good proof, the best you can hope for is a 2 entry 6 month visa.

Yup.. A few travel agencies will get the Visa for you.
They charge from $20-40 bucks.
And you can get multiple entries now. The ban is lifted.
I just got my 1 year multiple entry approved.

To get a multiple-entry visa now, you must be a HKID card holder otherwise you can only get a 2 entry permit valid for 6 months. Similar to like the US which is near impossible to get a entry visa that is not issued by your home country.

I just got a 1 year multiple entry.
You are probably right, there is no official lift on the ban.
Thats beside the point, I still got one and others have too.

There's a guy just across the street and about a block east who will take care of this for you. If you're a busy person and don't have 5 hours to kill waiting in line then another 3 when you pick up let him do it for you. I think he charges 10-20$ on top
This is how I got my Chinese visa

This is how I got my Chinese visa | For $10-$20 it's worth it. Lining up and staying in that chaos is not worth the time.

Pay someone to get it for you. | Wait, you got your visa in Vancouver or HK? It sounds like you got yours in Vancouver which I stated allows for multiple entry visa unlike if you get it IN HK.
