i have a sharp aqous, the D64U series, very satisfied with it.
i suggest go do some googling arnd, sometimes they might have hidden issues, sometimes not, and people will tell u what to look out for.

Sharp is generally known to have the best LCD panels. Quality is top-notch.
I have owned both brands (currently using 2 Samsung LCDs)... I prefer Sharp, but Samsung is much cheaper (in Asia anyway).

It's weird to see a Sharp TV cheaper than a Samsung.. you're probably comparing an older model to a new one. It still might be better (Sharp's LCD TV's are amazing) but I would want to compare specs, etc

I never really paid attention to Sharp LCDs, but I own a Samsung 5 series, and its amazing (for my standards), don't worry, whichever one you pick, you'll be amazed with it when you're upgrading from a CRT.

i think the 6 series has the 120hz instead of the 60hz?
when i was looking at the sharp the frame looks ugly
but for a couple bucks more i get 2 inchs of screen more lol
i think im going to try to bargin at visions for a better price or a deal of some sort

aquos doesn't amaze me anymore...at first it was friggin sweet compared to all the other LCD brands
but i gotta say samsung's come a long way and i wouldnt consider it any more inferior to a sharp

First time seeing "Plasma - Samsung":confused::confused::confused:
Plasma, I would go Pioneer (too bad they are done with their TV business)
then, I would go Panasonic.....
But....I'll never touch Samsung Plasma, even though I love their LCD more than any other brand for now.
Sharp is history for me.....Hate sharp more than any other brand now.
Go to the store and make sale person demo for you.

I would wait for 9000 series.
7000 and 7100 basiclly the same, just different color.
Its using Edge LED.
9000 series is with local dimming LED.

LCD - Samsung, Sharp (I personally prefer and recommend the Samsungs over the Sharp)
Plasma - Panasonic or Pioneer (they dropped out of the flat panel market for the time being)

I can tell you from my experience that Samsung has definitely come a long way and proven to be at the top of their game with LCDs compared to Sharp. I currently own 3 top-of-the-line series from both samsung (the series 8 and the B7100) and Sharp (Aquos LC42D85) and i can distinguish them apart. Sharp is a good brand TV and it still retains one of the best LCD panels in the market but samsung has taken the LCD to the next level.

the SE94 from Sharp should be compared to the above samsung, but FS or BB dont have them
the price difference roughly is about $600 after hook ups.the difference is still there
dont know if i should settle for the cheaper sharp...or just do it right the first time and never look back
fuck , wish i 'd more money

Mugen, ur decision will greatly depend on what youll be using ur TV on mostly, how finicky are you with quality and the ultimate question of what are you looking for in a TV. If your eyes cannot distinguish noticeable differences between 1080p TVs then u can go with the sharp and save $600 but if your a videophile and truly appreciate the quality difference then definitely go for broke with the samsung. my friends compared my series 8 to my aquos and they said there is no difference in picture quality. I disagree cuz i can see the difference, although not to major, there's still the difference. Trust in your eyes. If you dont see much difference then no point going for the higher up.

Samsung 8 series is way better than Sharp 85, or 94 series........
Please, see it in your own eyes in store.
The difference is very obvious.
