Singer Jill Vidal has been charged with the possession of illicit drugs and was given a 2 year suspended sentence plus a 3 year probation period. Jill admits to bringing 16 packets of heroin to Japan and in the past year has taken the drug over a hundred times.

Jill, who has been detained for 2 months already, has been charged with violating Japan's “Narcotics and Psychotropic Control Laws” and as a consequence, the case trial was held today. Jill traveled to the hearing in a police van at approximately 8am today and it began at 1.30pm local time. She could not stop crying inside the trial and was constantly looking at her father who traveled to Japan from Hong Kong just to attend this trial while she was crying.

The prosecutor stated that while Jill was staying at the Shinjuku Washington Hotel, 11 packets of heroin weighing 1.836 grams were found in her possession.

Jill admits to bringing 16 packets of heroin to Japan from Hong Kong and bought the drugs in Hong Kong by making a payment via ATM and then receiving the goods. She also admits that in the past year she has taken the drug over 100 times and explained that this was caused by pressure from her job and the negative reports from the media making her feel unhappy about life hence initiating her drug addiction.

Jill admits to the prosecutions while shedding tears in the trial. She apologises publicly during the trial emphasising that she’s sorry to all her friends, all the people in Hong Kong and all the people in Japan. Jill also expressed that the past 2 months was a horrifying experience and does not hope for this event to happen again. In addition she pointed out that she has cleared her drug addiction while she was detained and will stay far away from the drug. The judge expressed that they believed Jill does show signs of regret and made a request for Jill and her family to promise that she will never take drugs again. In the end she got a 2 year suspended sentence and a 3 year probation period and the hearing ended up taking 1 hour and 20 minutes. According to the policy, Jill will be permitted to leave and it is predicted that she will return to Hong Kong in the same day.
