Almost ten years after fatally running down a pedestrian, a convicted street racer has been deported.

Sukhvir Singh Khosa has been sent back to his native India.

Khosa killed Irene Thorpe on a Vancouver street in 2000.

He spent years fighting his deportation order after he was convicted of criminal negligence causing death.

The man he was racing against, Bahadur Singh Bhalru, was deported in September of 2005.

This drives me nuts. If you're ordered deported you should be cuffed and sent away instantly. If you want to fight the deportation do it from your own Country on your own dime.

Only in Canada can you get away with murder. Even that Jill Videl got more jail time in Japan for drugs vs here killing someone.

It's fucked.

I had a 2nd cousin from India who came here 5 years ago. The day he landed he started doing crack, stealing and breaking into my uncle’s house, breaking into cars, etc...My uncle pleaded to have him deported but they couldn't because my uncle sponsored him plus the idiot had "lost" his passport so they couldn't deport him. After the sponsorship was over, my uncle provided the cops and immigration a photocopy of his passport and they finally deported him.
