I thought this scam was golden.

Richmond residents and business owners are reporting a new scam that stretches throughout the Lower Mainland -- and even into the US.

The RCMP says they're investigating a number of incidents where people have picked up the phone to find a man on the other end demanding money and threatening if they don't cooperate.

Police say if you get one of those calls you shouldn't agree to anything and call your local police right away.

Similar calls have been reported in Toronto and some areas of the states so various police forces are working together to investigate the threats.

What bogus news.

Sometimes I wonder if news reporters make up shit for us to read because they're bored and want to play a practical joke on us.
