i know skytrain 'police'/security get paid over $30/hr. but you probably mean something else with attendant.
are you talking about the ones that just wander from station to station and ride on the train itself with a blue vest/jacket on? the ones that stand there and check tickets?

Yes
don't know an exact amount, but if they are hired under translink or any subsidiary, a good ballpark would be probably 13-18$

$13-18?
Not for a corporate quasi government institution.
They pay AT LEAST $18/hour.

Crown Corporation is the term you're looking for.

translink is not a crown corporation.
translink is not a crown corporation.
BC Transit is a Crown corporation charged with providing public transportation throughout the province, outside of the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD). Within the GVRD, transit services are provided by TransLink. BC Transit's web site is located at http://www.bctransit.com.
You are correct Sir.

how hard is to get a jjob there. Yea probably harder since we are in recession, but generally... is it next to impossible?
im guessing the only chance you might have a good try at getting a position is knowing someone from the inside that can somewhat pull some strings or refer your name.

I've worked for Translink, so it shouldn't be too hard for me. :)
