If my son was 16+ and a gang of kids were beating on him I would probably do the same, but not if the kid was 10 and not doing any damage, it even looked like they were wrestling when the dad approached. There are a lot of ways to stop a fight, a boot to the head on a 10 year old was not necessary. Honestly if the dad wanted to stop the fight he could have easily wrapped the two kids in his armpits.
