Change and where to get it sorted

I have saved a few thousand dollars worth of coins in the last 4 years filling up a plastic coke bottle. I took most of it to the coinstar at my local grocery store and quickly broke the machine (I hit 430$) and that isn't even 1/10th of all the change I have. Idiotically I started to manually roll the change by hand but now have blisters. Is there a place where I can take it to get sorted in Vancouver area ?

your local bank might be able to do it, since they have coin sorting machines. They may however charge a small fee.
That being said, you might wanna get coil sorters/coil rolling machines.

Sure, you might break it, but you'd be rid of most of the change XD

go buy a sorter from costco then return it when you're done.
just buy your own pack of rolls so everything can go back in the package when u return.

i was about to say, if you have a FEW THOUSAND in coins, you most likely have loonies/toonies.
Banks will look kindly upon that kinda thing, but if it's quarters and under, they don't like it.

By the time you buy rollers and a sorter, then spend the effort to do it, you might as well keep dumping into the machine at the grocery store, its only going to charge you 10%.
I would sort the loonies/twoonies from the rest. Dump the small change into the machine, and hand-roll the loonies/twoonies.
Do you work in a bar?

Why not just deposit it with your local bank teller. Let them sort it out.

Il do it if u let me keep the pennies!!
If you seriously have over a thousand dollars worth in that thing, pay your rent on it. Let your landlord sort it out.

if it's 10% for the fee. Then even $1000 would be $100 gone.
In his case, couple grand = couple hundred. Might be worth it to do it manually.

It's one of those huge novelty coke bottles that are for change. It stands about 4 feet high. I got one as a present in 2005 and just started dumping all my change in. You'd be surprised how quickly 4-5 dollars a day adds up to.
But anyways thanks for the advice, I'll look into getting a costco sorter. I'm guessing I have about 70 pounds worth of quarters.

According to wiki, a quarter weighs 4.4grams.
After conversions you have approx 7216 quarters.
Times that by 25cents gives a total of $1,804, not factoring dirt, debris, corrosion, etc.
I have a container of change i need to count, I better start counting now before it builds up and I have to make a thread about where to get it counted.

i dont get how you can have that much coinage. maybe it's just me but when i have say a few toonies, i'll take em for my next coffee run after dinner. or i'll knock next door n go for ice cream or something.
I mean, wouldnt that mean that each time you go buy something, it'll be with a crisp bill?

werd. I have a habbit of saving all loonies and toonies I get. I've taken it to the bank many times but always get about $500 in about 6 months or less easily.
