some times they dont return it, cause a lot of "smart" people before put in the address were they want in the return address part, and a fake and non-valet address on the main address part. so when the post office "returns" the mail it actually makes it to the right destination

so they don't do that anymore
for letters it's some bin
for parcel's they hold it and sends a notice to the return address

My boss sometimes leaves my paycheck in an envelope in his mailbox before he leaves town or we have conflicting schedules. One time the mailman picked it up and sent it through the mail system. It had his address as the return address and that's where it was, yet it was still taken with no postage. What a pain in the ass that was when I needed the cheque. Ended up getting delivered to my house in Coq. (from W. Van) 4 days later - still no stamp.

If I had known I could get free delivery, I would just leave all outgoing mail in my mailbox and let the mailman pick it up.

i think you will not get it back if its mailed outside of a specific zone, IE if the sender address is in Quebec or something but its found without a stamp in Van.
