After much inner bantering, I am selling my beloved '97 328is.
I had looked for nearly a year before finding this stunning example of the series, and I am very reluctant to part with it, as - as anyone that has owned a 3 series will tell you - they are phenominal cars in all aspects. The driving dynamics, steering feel, handling, economy, craftsmanship, luxuries and power all make these cars as worthy as all the raves the magazines and media bestow upon them. It will be missed......
This is a stunning combination of Madiera Violet on Dove leather (sounds strange, but think deep, deep purple/blue on light grey - almost white - leather) I've yet to run across another example in daily driving, though I did see one with a tan interior.
The car has 165000 km's and has always been a BC car.
It is a 5 speed manual with every conceivable option these cars come with......as far as I know. Consisting of -
-leather interior
-heated and power front seats (both)
-full ///M factory package, which includes upgraded/lowered suspension, ///M shift knob and 3 spoke steering wheel and full ///M body kit (everything the M3 has except the side skirts and mirrors)
-headlight washers
-dual zone/digital automatic climate control with ice cold A/C
-full onboard computer
-one touch sunroof (with tilt)
-power windows (one touch up and down)
-power and heated mirrors
-ASC (stability control) - defeatable
-4 wheel ABS
-central locking
-premium BMW factory sound with 8 speakers (updated - see below)
-tilt steering
There's probably more, but I can't think of it. As far as I know, limited slip wasn't offered on these and I don't know if it has it, but I can't think of a thing it doesn't have! And everything works exactly as it should.
There are a few tasteful upgrades, but mechanically, I didn't tinker - why bother?
The upgrades consist of -
-Koni progressive rate springs all around
-5 window (light/50%) tint
-clear corners
-Euro tailights
-M3 'DSII' 17" staggered rims
-Pioneer head unit
Recent maintenance (done at either Blitzkreig or CG motorsports) are the following -
-brand new Bilstein sport shocks and struts
-brand new brakes all around
-new control arm bushings
-all new o2 sensors
-new throttle sensor
-new cabin filter
As the car sits, it needs nothing! Chris at CG looked at it 6 weeks ago and told me what needed doing (above) and it was done.
As anyone that knows the E36 BMWs will know (or find out) the 2 known problem issues that can pop up on these are the cooling system and front suspension failure. My car has no such issues and I welcome a ppi (inspection) at the shop of your choice.
Of course, it is aircared.
I dare to say you will not find a more babied 328 in the city with a more fastidious owner. The car is hand washed (detailed) and chamois dried at least weekly and waxed every 6 weeks.
Other than not having the sweet 240 hp mill of the M3, this is almost an M3 'light'! Only, for about $6000 less than the equivalent car! (I'd still love to have one, one day!)
I am asking $10000.
I have another car that will replace this (911) - but I am in no hurry to sell it. I will entertain offers, but please - I know what is out there, and I know this car is amongst the nicest and most mechanicall sound examples you will find anywhere, so lo-ballers, please save your time. Not being elitist or a snob - it's just a BMW - but the car will speak for itself, I assure you.
I live in Vancouver and can be reached at (604)809-7604.
Cheers!
