Probably best way to spend these is on gas... because you can preset to fill up $25. Otherwise, if you spend it on random stuff, you might end up with a balance of like $1.93 or something and it'll be hard to get rid of the rest.

I think if anything, it was probably because it as an Amex... I think for these prepaid MasterCards, pretty much any place that takes MasterCards should accept these...

Probably because lots of places don't take AE to begin with because they charge the merchants an insane rate compared to Visa/MC

edit: tried using it at Chevron today, the machine doesn't take it (no surprise) but when I tried to go in to pay the clerk there wouldn't take it either.
