Have you used these guys before?
The battery on my laptop only holds a 20-30 min charge now (cause i let it run dry and didn't recharge it for a month :( )

intelligentbatteries.com, I used them all the time... Just call in to see if they have stock...
Apparently they only do mass orders 2 times a year.

Found the link from a post on here as well and I got a power adapter from them few months ago. They shipped pretty quick and the store is local I think. The adapter had pretty short cables though but for a fraction of the price, it does the job so no complaints.
Battery Depot didn't have a store when I wanted to go to them directly and buy a battery. Their response to my email:

Not a big deal. I went to Dr.Battery and it worked out fine. Paid around $60 for an 8-cell battery back in January.

any problem of getting some aftermarket ones? i don't really trust made in china shit... i dont' want it to blow up.
i found Able Electronics in burnaby, they sold me an OEM sony one for $154 today.. double the price of aftermarket.. which is not THAT bad..
I can't tell you if there are any problems in general. I can only tell you that I don't have any problems, AFAIK, with my aftermarket battery.
You seem pretty concerned about this. I think you're perfectly justified to buy an OEM battery for the peace of mind. I wouldn't short myself $ if I knew I was going to be a nervous wreck about something.
