They are a traditional Japanese conglomerate. They also manufacture heavy equipment such as ocean tanker engines and propellers, turbines for hydroelectric dams, cars like the Lancer, and even instant noodles!

1080P on a 80 yard wide screen = POS.

the pixels will be freaking huge. this whole new "HD" fade is retarded. computers were HD 20 years ago. a screen that big should have a resoultion of 10,000+ not 1500

Yeah, the specs don't say the contrast ratio. it should be 1 billion to one?

I would like to see it on. then we'll see.

I was thinking the same..but considering how big the entire stadium is it's probably a good proportion.

so its essentially 10 million for each screen...... still pretty damn baller though.

Impact Out.

Sure, the pixels will be huge, but do you know how far away you'll be looking at it from?

exactly.

even the closest people will be seeing a crystal clear display, replacing it will be peanuts as well because all you will be replacing in the case of an errant ball, burnt pixel, etc. are a few LED's

I don't think it's meant to be looked at by people sitting right below it.

And come on people... it's not like it's going to be unprotected like the computer monitor sitting on your desk... you don't think for $40M, they'll have planned out how to protect it?

Sucks if you have a ticket for a game/event on the same side as the TV. ;)

Not sure why it costs so much, but yeah, the bulbs (ie pixels) will be huge. At the end of the day it's STILL just 1080p, so it's not going to look any "sharper" than the TV you picked up from Best Buy.

You guys realize that you could just buy a 60" or so HDTV and sit 2m away for the exact same effect right?
