Who here has a Fitness World Membership?
Quick question for you guys:
Do you think they're cool if I bring chalk? Not like I will be throwing the stuff around; will only be using for a few of my lifts (snatch pulls, cleans pulls, snatch shrugs etc..)
I may finally need an actual gym membership (like a normal gym) and Fitness world has alot of locations and decent time. I hear some are 24/7 which is nice.

they might not say anything right away, but once you get some complaints from members they will probably ask you to stop using it.

Yeah....considering allergies and stuff like that are total concerns for share facilities such as fitness centres, stuff like chalk, fragrances and stuff like that are requested not to be used inside these facilities.
But hey...easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

I've never heard of gyms especially fitness world requesting fragrances not to be used inside their facilities. Imo if someone is that sensitive to stuff like that, they shouldnt be using a shared gym like fitness world...
I agree that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

^^ Its not necessarily a policy or anything like that, but you may see the odd sign requesting out of courtesy. However....if a case does break out, theres a good chance it will turn from courtesy to policy.
On a personal level, i myself am allergic to the dust thats produced by chalk. Thats not going to stop me from going to the gym.
If only weightlifting clubs had decent hours.
I agree that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
I will put this to the test.

fitness world arbutus is no longer 24/7.
i've seen people at arbutus use chalk, rare, and only late at night when there's almost no one else there.

It was that easy? Was this some sort of promotion? And did you guys all have to pay the contract fees

he guy i was talking to on the phone didnt tell me i could either pay like 500 up front and then pay 24 a month or just pay 42 bucks which is what i choose to do, and then after like a year or 2 u pay 24.
my bad
so the basic member ship fee is $42

off-topic but i was thinking of switching from gold's gym to fitness world and was wondering if fitness world did monthly-based membership fees only without a yearly contract instead of having to sign up for a 1 year or more membership with lower monthly fees.

Yep I have FW membership since Feb of this year. I am currently paying $70 a month. But trust me don't bring chalk, the guys there will get pissed (including me) at you, and with all the testosterone build up in the room it might get messy.
