BURNABY (NEWS1130) - An 18 year old has been arrested after six people were injured when a man started shooting at a group of people waiting at a Burnaby bus stop with a pellet gun on Monday afternoon.
A bus driver, who attempted to stop the suspect, was sprayed with mace as he tried to intervene.

Burnaby Mounties say the suspect had been hiding in bushes near Burnaby Mountain Secondary School and began firing pellets at bystanders.
The attacker ran away, but continued to shoot people at the bus stop and Corporal Alexandra Mulvihill says several were hurt.
"At this time it's believed up to six people suffered injuries as a result of being hit by some of the pellets. None of these injuries is considered life threatening, and they're in fact considered minor."

Police arrested the man late Monday afternoon and say he was a past student of the high school.
Mounties say the attack appears to be random.

BURNABY (NEWS1130) - A Burnaby teen is facing 23 charges in connection with yesterday afternoon's pellet gun and bear spray attack outside Burnaby Mountain High School. Thomas Anthony Proniuk, 18, is facing numerous counts of assault with a weapon and other charges.

Proniuk, a former student at Burnaby Mountain, appears in court today where it will be determined if he'll be held in custody. All the victims from yesterday's attack are recovering.
