Stretching Jeans?

I got these pair of R&R jeans (100% cotton) as a gift and they fit pretty tight especially in the thigh/knee areas. Is there a way to stretch my jeans so they fit more relaxed? I hate wearing tight jeans because my legs are so skinny.

I read that soaking your jeans in water and doing squats can stretch your jeans. Has anyone tried it? I don't want to fuck up these jeans because it was a gift.. Worst comes to worst, i'll have to sell it!

TIA

I'm tall and often shrink pants cause of my terrible laundry skillz.

You can easily stretch pants (especially jeans) by wetting them and wearing them. Get them soaking wet and use a bit of kitchen dish soap (a bit, you don't want to wear them all soapy). The dish soap helps loosen up the fibers. Just wear them around, nevermind squats. Or go for a walk, you might look silly, so do it at night.

If they are too short, you can hang them up wet and attach some weights to the bottom. I was able to get back 1-2" on some pants this way.

They usually will stretch a bit when worn damp. But I recommend to just wear them a bit for the next little while so they stretch faster.

when i buy a fresh pair of jeans, they fit a little snug more than usual, so i just do the squats. after a couple wears they start to stretch a bit. another thing i do is pull on the fabric to loosen up the fabric. i don't know if this does anything at all, but any ideas is worth a try!

Wearing them will stretch them out a bit. I dont wash my jeans after every wash, so after a few wears they are stretched out, but when you wash them again theyll return to normal.
Another thing I heard was someone wearing them in the shower, and then kneeling/ squating.
