It's been awhile since I've been in the area of Gastown. Can someone recommend some nice places in Gastown for dinner? Any type of cuisine other than Asian. Preferable in a nice area where I can have a short walk after the meal! Thanks in advance!

"The Greedy Pig" - a tiny, casual (but by no means ghetto) is pretty interesting

A little heavy on the wallet for what you get. I would suggest walking around the corner to Water Street Cafe or So.Cial. Or at least take a stroll along Water Street where an abundance of cafes and restaurants are before you.

Definately Boneta

Agree, it has been opened for over a year now, they managed to extend their initially one-year lease.

Thanks all for the recommendations. Searching online, Boneta seems to be sorta what I was looking for! Also wanted to look at Water St. Cafe. But there website doesn't seem to be working? Are they still in business? (I would check myself but i'm not in town at the moment)

Yeah, Water St. Cafe is pretty solid. Had quite a few office x-mas parties there in the private room upstairs. They should be open, I walked by it a few weeks ago and was pretty sure it was open.

I didn't particularly like the food at Al Porto. It was ok, the service was good but there's many other restaurants i'd rather go to.

Jules used to be better, but a few months ago, owners opened another joint called Les Faux Bourgeois Bistro, Jules has since gone a little downhill.

Their onion soup is still decent.
