There isn't any, and yeah it takes place thousands of years before the movies. I believe Bioware wanted it this way so they'd have creative freedom with the stories.

Looks pretty good. I remember when Star Wars Galaxies came out I got this bugged weapon like day 1 of release. The thing was so sick I could pretty much 1 or 2 shot and PC at close range and could solo multiple red con NPC's all day long by myself because I did so much damage. Leveling and PvP was so fucking easy it wasn't even fair.

right now currently playing a cyborg smuggler, smuggler is alright and their take cover ability is pretty usefull/cool, not being able to train in blaster rifles though is kinda weak and no heavy armour either

few more screenshots, loving the game so far, group questing is super fun and their whole setup with the noob/class story lines are pretty awsome, definite buy for me at this point, when your doing quests in groups, everyone gets the typical interaction menus, then whatever is decided, whether it be a light side/dark side choice is rolled on, the roll determines the action that happens between the group, but if you did not choose the dark side choice, you wont get dinged with dark side points if thats what gets rolled on

What exactly was wrong with KOTOR 2? I finished the first one and felt it was probably one of the best RPGs I've ever played - up there with Deus Ex and Mass Effect 2. Never got around to the second.

my computer is brand new, got it last week and it's a fairly high end rig so i'm running everything at max in those screenshots with an average of 110 FPS

other people were saying they had no problem playing at 35-65 FPS, some even lower than that

imo its the kind of game though where you want to run it probably above average, there are some really cool combat animations and very vast open areas where a lower end rig will get bogged down hard, but i think theyve made it so that the lower-end settings are adjusted accordingly and it runs well, or so i've heard from others playing

i think test is over now, but I played probably 12-15 hours over the weekend of it, so i can probably answer some questions if anyone has any, I only played the one Smuggler/Gun Runner class though

how much freedom is there in this game? can i walk around a "planet" (area), and just fuck around. or go solo.

it seems from all the videos that it's just group quests over and over again.

some cut scene, then u enter your quest area and do the quest. repeat?

You can go whenever you like but I was somewhat disappointed with the "big cities" I only went to one, coruscant or whatever but it was basically broken up into these big zones yOu take a taxi type thing too and it didn't seem like there was much of an exploration aspect to it

Beta is over for this weekend.

I have to say even though it is just beta it feels very fun to play. Quet line was good, character development is well design. Graphics are excellent and it actually matches into the overall story of Starwars. I actually stay up the whole night on Sat to play and up to 4am last night. I got several character pass level 10 so I guess I could discuss the class a little bit.

So far I only play on the Sith side and I have to say Sith Inquisitor is way too OP compare to other class. Pretty much after lvl 10 you have a campion. I spec into heals with my Inquisitor while my campion tanks the mob for me. I can CC, heal and does decent damage.

Bounty Hunter is ok I guess they hit hard but the can't hide or heal (I think Bounty hunter can be a tank or dps). They do have abilities that uses their jetpack to hit enemies but it is not very strong.

Imperial Agent. They are well I guess fun to play but requires skills to say the least. They can dps or heal. They have Decent CC and dps is decent if play well. They are more of a support class. One thing they are different form bounty hunter is that they can do what's call cover. If you target an enemy you can hide behinds things and shoot at them. While you hide long range can't hit you but melee will run towards you (but that's your campion will tank them for you.) So they require more skills to play but very rewarding.

Sith Warrior is just well nothing speical. They deal lot's of damage and wear heavy armor. Don't like them too much for some reason.

you can also self heal to full everytime after a battle which is nice. There are profession( at least my friend told me) I am not too sure what they are or what to do. I haven't seen an auction yet so I can't comment if they have one or not. There are some actions that you can take when speakign to quest givers that will give you dark points or light points. Some items not require a certain level but also certain amount of dark or light points to use it. Dark point si when picking bad or evils things while light points is for good things. As a Sith you want dark points I would assume.

Also in terms of leveling. I say it is right. Is not too easy or hard. One thing to note though there are quest that will point to you heroic areas where the enemies are a lot harder to kill. Try to be at least on the same level as those enemies in heroic area or you will DIE. I feel your level to the enemies is pretty important. I still remember there are some quest (mostly heroic ones). I can't do them if I am lower level. Also a lot of the times I found enemies in packs so you do have to say use your CC and stuff to have an easier time.

One thing to note is that even after you die, you can chose to call a medic probe which to where you die and it will revie you or you can chose to be transport back to town.

Overall I say is well worth it to buy and pay for the sub. The only downside I see in beta is that servers get fill quick during night I actually had to put in a que to log on. It will most likely have this issue on launch. Chat is sorta annoying now as people keep asking the same question and there are a lot of trolls.

imbalance? i dont really see it, hp and dmg wise its all equal no matter what level you are

only thing id see imbalance is a level 10 going in a bg vs a level 50 and the level 50 has advantage with all the skills whereas the level 10 is limited in the skills he can use

otherwise i think its decent, sure mercs do shitload of dps but i play both a sorc / jugg and i'm not having a really hard time killing anything (only level 25), really depends if you know your class well and your environment (ie. huttball and stunning them in fire/acid etc.)

it's really balanced PvP wise, maybe operatives/scoundrels are a bit OP. Level 50 brackets are coming next week

Bounty hunters are the best tanks atm imo, and good DPS and healers

I think there's a bunch to do, in between daily quests, hard mode flashpoints, pvp, and operations (raiding). New 50 content comes out tomorrow, a new flashpoint, which is titled Rise of the Rakghouls, and expanded raid. By March, we'll get another content update; continuation of the Rise of the Rakghouls story line, new planet which will include a new warzone and operation, and some other features such what our legacy does. So there's plenty to look forward to.

But I'm having huge fps issues when I turn Anti Aliasing on above "Low".

Before the patch, the forced AA wasn't great, but it wasn't as bad as the High setting available in this patch.

I'm using a GTX 570 too, and my GTX 460 on another computer performs better on max settings :S
