Those who have been around on the forums for a while might remember that I had a long post about having my car stolen (about 5 years ago)
I can't seem to find the thread anymore but that's not important.
(if someone can find it and put the link that'd be appreciated)
Apparently the police called me a few days ago (while I was out of town) and informed my mom that they had found the car!
Car was stolen around March of 2004.
They find it June of 2009?! ... LOL
So my mom had to drive all the way down to Queensborough and what she saw was not really my car.
A barely recognizable rusted shell, a few nuts and bolts, dashboard with my VIN # and 1 of my license plates ...
*sigh* All they did was just bring back depressing memories of my baby :(

I wasn't in town when the police called about it.
My mom went instead and by her description I didn't have the heart to go see it and I'm sure there's nothing worth a penny left there.
Apparently they found it somewhere in New West?... who knows ... by this point .. who cares ...
Here was the car in it's prime:

Probably what my mom saw:

The question is, did the VIN on the firewall confirm it was yours?
Sorry to hear either way. I hope you got paid well for it.

I would guess the theives stripped what they could from the car and then pushed it into the Fraser river.
I remember watching the news where the police sent a diver team down into the water to recover some of the stolen cars that were submerged in the water. They showed a black CRX and a GMC pickup that was reported stolen back in the late 80's.

MAYBE TO YOU, :haha: LOL! I've been a subtle and fresh JDM honda guy since 02 as well as MANY others, so you are talking out of your ass.
As for OP, i feel for you dude, you had some sweet parts on there, as i recall quite well back then you said someone stole it right from the (then) ground level underground at Broadway and Oak poolhall, right? i also recall you sayinbg that you had everything like 2 way paging alarm and they still got it, jeez ..towtruck possibly right?

The ICBC file was closed but the police file was still open, probably collecting dust somewhere in some dark room.

I highly doubt it. I mean 5 years man, even if the thieves didn't strip & sell everything probably some random people picked up whatever spare parts were leftover to replace their own car (middle console, E-Brake, etc) .. none of that is worth a scrap to me anyway. Especially it's a Civic, dime a dozen. I'm sure every civic owner has picked the car clean.

Yeah my car was pretty rice back then, my uncle runs a bodyshop so I did a lot of "show" stuff but couldn't afford all the "go" stuff back in the day haha
Yeap it was in a remote gate locked lot with supposedly a security guard that patrols that area. Definitely pros that did it.
I have a clean ride now (all grown up!), just rims and system ;)

i always wondered if a car was stolen, and just garage kept (more or less out of public sight) while it was stripped to bits, if anyone would know.
I mean, no one gives a crap what people do in smaller neighbourhoods, they'll probably just think you're working on your own car.

maybe it's my vivid imagination, but i recall a story on RS here a long time ago that sounds similar to this scenario... can anyone remember? it involved an MR2 i think. someone reported suspicious activity around a garage in his back lane and the cops came and they found the car in the process of being stripped :o

Queensborogh is completely a residential area, I think if you parked the car in your garage and worked on it, no one would care.

Yeah it's a 2000, they only came in Black, Red and that "oh-so-popular" Electron Blue.
I had the car repainted to NSX White + a coat of blue pearl that reflected in the sun, oh I so miss the car :(
And yes they did also have 01 version, it started to come out in silver as well I believe.
