Who's in East Vancouver and is down for some tennis this evening? Maybe sometime around 5-7? I have to be at somewhere at 8, so the earlier the better ;p

I play anywhere in East Van. err... I'm average? I don't know how to define tennis skill in levels, but I can hit back the ball pretty well with lots of spin. However, I do need make my serves faster and harder, but they are quite accurate for how they are right now. I suppose one my of weaknesses is tennis is my back hand. I can't quite spin nor use a lot of power using my backhand, but it's still okay in accuracy.

I was asking about NTRP rating...

Most people say they are "good", but when I play them, they are more like beginners. So now I ask what rating they are. If they don't know, more than likely not a very serious tennis player.

lol.. ya.. i'm not a serious tennis player at all. I've never joined tennis competitions, and i'm not in the country's tennis team either. I just play tennis for fun and when i'm bord. I consider myself as average in comparison to other ppl I see playing at public parks and at public schoo's courts. I'm definitely not even close to being "good" when compared to those serious competitive players who play tennis as their job.

Heh... hard to say. Certain aspects of my game are better than others. I would probably say I'm a 3.5, but I have enough hustle and other intangibles that let's me play with 4.0's.

I usually play at Gladstone.

Do you know what grip you use for your forehand?

don't worry orange7, as long as you keep playing recreationally, you'll get better. i started out playing for my high school tennis team as a beginner and ever since then, i've been playing leisurely but with some competitiveness with my friends.

anyone going to join the burnaby open this month? i'm most likely going to join 3.5 because i know there will be sandbaggers (players who are higher than what they registered for) and i might or might not join 3.0.

according to the ntrp ratings, i would self rate myself at a 4.0 but in terms of league matches, i'd say 3.5.

orange7: if you're using a 2hbh (2 handed bh), definitely take a look at some of agassi's vids. he is truly amazing. everything else, federer.

a very useful forum site to learn really valuable tips is www.tenniswarehouse.com and then click on message boards at the top, scroll down and go to tennis tips and instructions.

lol.. thanks.. ya... i'm hoping that i'll get better this summer from playing as much as possible. However, I'm not planning to go that crazy into tennis and start joining league matches such as Burnaby Open. My tennis skill is only going to be used at public street park in the afternoon when i'm bord as fuck. But, I do plan on getting better to a point where i am considered as very good at the street level.
