Yea, you read the title right...Wally's Burgers!

They've been open as a concession stand since May 15th. I went to try it out today, and you can read my review here (http://604foodtography.wordpress.com/2009/06/06/wallys-burgers-at-cates-parkwhey-ah-wichen). :)

Just to tease you a little.

Looks awful -- I see your point about keeping it original, but to be honest, if their first location closed down they probably weren't so hot.

You do know why the Wally's on Kingsway closed down, right?
They basically got forced out by developers wanting that land to build on, not because of their food.

Also, over the years, the new owners of Wally's Burgers (Chinese/Korean of some sort) skimped out on everything so the quality of food definitely went downhill. You went from good quality burgers to Costco burgers.

+1

10+ years ago that place was awesome. I used to skip out of Norquay Elem. and hang out there and what used to be a laundromat across the street to play arcade games.

That place had a lot of history.

I'm sure Wally's was great at one point, and probably was a fun place to hang out. But not in our lifetimes. At least when I tried it, it was absolutely no better than buying buns and patties and Safeway and frying them up yourself.

Forget Wallys, you should try Burger's Etc on Hastings in burnaby. Probably one of the best bugers i've had!

They're closed temporarily due to a break-in & subsequent vandalism. :(
