| Pos/Neg Rep system
Instead of the "thanks" system, I think we should have a positive or negative rep system.
Users with Neg rep would be pretty much ignored because they're useless.
This would also work with Buysell where the users feedback would also add to positive rep. Positive rep users would be easily noted as a person with good feedback, while negative users would not.
Of course, when receiving or giving Rep points, it would show who, for what post, and why. Stupid reasons like "he doesn't answer his PMs right away" or other useless reasons would be deleted.
It would show the positive rep posts on one side, and negative on the other, so it would be easier to search if that person had neg rep for buysell. Quicker than searching for the user in feedback.
Plus, it looks like a DDR bar with the red or green dots.

Regarding the B&S bit, there's plans in the works for a proper feedback system. I'm not positive but I believe it's the iTrader option vB has.
As for using Rep points instead of Thanks... there's been some talk about it already and the general consensus was to leave the rep points off for now. We may implement it sometime down the road, but I don't believe there's plans for the immediate future.

Lol as soon as a rep system is instituted, people are going to abuse it like crazy. Giving negative rep to people they don't like for no reason.

It would be value based, so obviously, mods will make the most of the rep points.
Random posts will add up and slowly build the points.
People with higher rep points would hold more value than those with lower rep points.
So say some new guy with zero rep points gives someone with tons of rep points bad rep. it wouldn't do a thing.
Same guy doing it to someone of equal points, would do his set value to the other person, and vice versa.
Negative rep users would be able to do shit.
Members who donate/volunteer would have more rep value than a more popular member who has not donated. This would be capped obviously.
It would just be easier to differentiate who and who not to pay attention to.
The only way I've actually seen this fail was on Zilvia, but thats because their value system was retarded. Premie members who kept donating had shittons of rep points, and were able to make a newbie drop into the negatives in one go.
