in a way i think fallon sometimes doesnt try hard ENOUGH to be funny.. like when theres a perfect chance for a one liner or witty comment, he just kinda chuckles and goes silent instead of using quick, smart situational humor like you see ALL THE TIME with conan.

That being said, the only parts of the show I ever see are the clips like this that people share on social sites. It's always the same:

-Hilarious clip gets posted on Youtube or Facebook
-Everyone complains about how much they hate Jimmy Fallon
-Another funny clip gets posted
-More people complain about the host

That's my perspective anyway, from someone who doesn't watch the show but sees a lot of funny clips.

The guy cannot perform as well as other comedians out there live - especially hosting shows. I remember him hosting the MTV movie awards back in the day and wow, he just failed at hosting. Compare him to Jamie Foxx or Chris Rock - Jimmy is not witty enough to carry a show.

totally agree. give him two seasons to let him iron out the show, and then decide if he is good or not. I can't remember, but apparently late nite w/ Conan O'Brien wasn't so great in its first few years either.
